About the Team & Position
The Walmart Academy team sits within the Global Talent and Learning team.
The Director, Learning and Development (Digital Learning) supports the digital learning across the enterprise. You'll be responsible for representing the business, working with business stakeholders, setting the strategy for learning platforms, how associates interact with digital learning, digital badging, and emerging learning technology (e.g., VR).

What you'll do...
- Develop training strategies by evaluating business needs, serving as a learning expert, assessing training impacts, testing approaches, providing guidance on methods and processes, managing key partner relationships, and incorporating feedback into future plans.
- Oversee the development of training materials by providing solutions for implementation issues, ensuring content formatting, driving brand consistency, determining media formats and delivery options, and cross-training team members.
- Manage training projects by overseeing capacity planning, creating business documents, acting as a content development expert, recommending digital training assets, addressing project changes, and updating executive leadership.
- Oversee associate development by mentoring team members, assigning tasks, and reviewing recommended solutions.
- Direct the development of training programs by researching learner needs, creating blended learning options, evaluating current solutions, adapting course content, recommending process standards, influencing leadership, and ensuring alignment with business infrastructure.
- Provide overall direction by analyzing business objectives, developing and implementing strategies, analyzing costs, determining resource requirements, evaluating processes, measuring outcomes, identifying improvements, promoting a customer environment, and sponsoring continuous learning.
- Develop strategies to attract and maintain a skilled workforce by diagnosing capability gaps, recruiting and developing talent, supporting mentorship, and leveraging existing talent.
- Cultivate an environment of integrity by integrating company standards into all programs, developing consequences for violations, and supporting the Open Door Policy.
- Develop and leverage partnerships to maximize business goals by leading community outreach initiatives, engaging stakeholders, and supporting associate efforts.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
