You'll sweep us off our feet if...

  • Understand, articulate, interpret, and apply principles of the defined strategy to complex business problems. Leverages experiences and learnings to inform and influence data strategy that typically spans one or more functions or domains.
  • Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs
  • Develop and communicate business plans and priorities by removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance and providing resources
  • You operate as a collaborative partner willing to share your expertise and advice at every phase of the strategic decision-making process
  • You lead by example and provide your team with the resources necessary to making decisions with surety.
  • You keep a pulse on international market regulations, best practices, developments, and fiscal influences along with leading/working with offshore tech teams.
  • You position yourself as a global practitioner, someone who prides themselves on their worldly expertise and leveraging it to empower the broader organization.
  • You design, build, test and deploy cutting edge solutions at scale, impacting millions of customers worldwide drive value from data
  • Interact with engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community.
  • You Utilize tools to deliver trusted analytics across all of Walmart's operating businesses across the globe.

You'll make an impact by being the SME:

Data Quality Management - Use Data quality management techniques and standards to develop and evangelize data quality awareness. Determines data quality strategy, metrics, and business rules for a business domain to ensure that data is fit for purpose. Sets and evaluates business domain data quality service level strategy. Designs and implements operational Data Quality Management (DQM) procedures.

Understanding Business Context - provides recommendations to business stakeholders to solve complex business issues. Develops business cases s for projects with a projected return on investment or cost savings. Translates business requirements into projects, activities, and tasks and aligns to overall business strategy and develops domain specific artifact.

Data Source Identification - understand the priority order of requirements and service level agreements. Defines and identifies the most suitable sources for required data that is fit for purpose, referring to external sources as required. Performs initial data quality checks on the extracted data.

Data Governance - establish, modify, and document data governance strategies and initiatives. Provides guidance to business stakeholders, peers, and junior associates on the implementation of data governance practices. Helps business leaders understand and interpret company and regulatory policies around data. Determines data governance processes, practices, policies, and guidelines.

Master Data and Metadata Management - influence business domain master data integration and metadata requirements. Identifies business domain master data sources and contributors. Defines and proactively manages master data integration and the metadata architecture. Develops and manages metadata standards.

Data Strategy - Understanding of business value and relevance of data and data enabled insights / decisions; Appropriate application and understanding of data ecosystem including Data Management, Data Quality Standards and Data Governance, Accessibility, Storage and Scalability

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Statistics, or related field and 7 years' experience in data analytics, project management, business, or related area OR 10 years' experience in data analytics, project management, business, or related area;
  • Strong SQL (writing complex queries), Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Looker and Qlik Sense dashboard development, or other data analytics and visualization tools
  • Experience with Data Governance | Data Management,
  • Experience with data management and governance tools ( e.g., Collibra, Dataplex, Informatica)
  • Experience with large dataset mining tools and open-source programming tools (e.g., SQL, R, Python, Spark)
  • 4+ years of experience leading and completing cross-functional projects
  • Strong organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines
  • Strong influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Detail and results-oriented with sense of urgency
  • Comfort with ambiguity

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Option 3: 7 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field. 2 years' supervisory experience.
