What you'll do...

As a Senior Systems & Infrastructure Engineer , you will support multiple critical applications that are hosted in approved cloud locations and within the Walmart Enterprise datacenters. You will need to be adaptable and supportive of a continuous learning culture. You will be expected to advance existing and build new standards and processes that adhere to strict operational excellence standards. The ability to learn quickly and be collaborative across multiple teams will be critical to success .

We are responsible for the development of Walmart's strategic Data Ventures product line to revolutionize the retail industry. Harnessing the power of data science, we at Walmart Data Ventures build applications that empower brands to fuel smarter decision making with access to rich customer insights to better serve customers. Our team builds highly scalable, cloud-native platforms & applications with resiliency at its core. Our platform has very diverse capabilities - from highly optimized real time algorithms to integrations with data foundation systems. Our tech stack is Azure SQL, CosmosDB , Big Query, PowerBI , Tableau, Spark, React Native, React.js, Angular, .Net C# microservices, Kafka, Azure, CI/CD pipelines and much more.

What you'll do:

  • Serve as the infrastructure implementation and support engineer for multiple application s , supporting software development colleagues and partner teams as needed .


  • Technically lead deployment chains for Data, Web, Mobile, and API service applications for multiple environments.


  • Independently own , address and resolve infrastructure issues that impact applications , provide updates and perform root cause analysis.


  • Perform knowledge management, i ncident management, problem management, d efect tracking, change management and SLA reporting.


  • Plan, execute and implement change procedures.


  • Monitor and r esolve infrastructure related alerts related to application availability.


  • Maintain productive relationships with counterparts of engineering, p latform support and customers .


  • Install and prepare tools required for proper functioning of applications on regular basis.


  • Manage all production system s and recommend ways to optimize performance .

What you'll bring:

  • You have a deep interest and passion for s upport with relevant experience in Infrastructure Engineering .


  • You have a sound knowledge of operating systems, networking, databases, distributed computing and a high-level understanding of modern application stacks.


  • Good experience in microservices architecture and supporting Applications in Kubernetes environment . It would be beneficial for you to bring a working knowledge of SQL, NoSQL Databases and Big query .


  • Hands on triaging skills to debug API issues that will assist with infrastructure troubleshooting.


  • You have experience in t roubleshooting issues end to end and can identify root cause .


  • You have hands-on knowledge on ITSM industry standard tools


  • Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales.


  • You have strong problem solving, analytic, decision- making with interpersonal skills.

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00-$155,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, information technology, or related area and 3 years'experience in technology infrastructure engineering across areas such as compute, storage, network, mobility or virtualization-related technologies.
Option 2: 5 years' experience in technology infrastructure engineering across areas such as compute, storage, network, mobility or virtualization relatedtechnologies.

Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, information technology, or related area. and 1 Year of relevant experience in configuration management, developing automation for Provisioning and Orchestration, experience developing and managing service-level objectives (SLOs)/service level indicators (SLIs) for Infrastructure Service availability and performance., We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
