What you'll do...

Senior Software Engineer - Creative Platform Team

We are the Creative Platform team, building the tools and platforms that enable the ability to create and manage digital ads across all of Walmart intuitively and efficiently. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with a focus on the frontend to join our growing team. You should be comfortable collaborating with product managers and other software engineers to translate customer requirements into technical requirements and turning ideas into scalable technical solutions. The ideal candidate has both a deep technical expertise and pragmatism with a bias towards shipping.

You should be comfortable taking an end goal and identifying the most critical components to validate the thesis. When you run into bugs / issues, you are able to quickly troubleshoot and triage issues, coming up with solutions that fix both the underlying cause, and prevent future occurrences of similar issues. You are pragmatic in evaluating tradeoffs, and don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good.

This position is part of the Advertising Technology organization. Walmart is investing in building a world-class advertising platform and our team is responsible for building performance advertising products that drive discovery, sales, and profit. The team operates an end-to-end advertising platform that includes the ad server that serves hundreds of millions of impressions each day, sophisticated ad matching algorithms, real-time measurement, self-service buying interface for end-to-end campaign management spanning from creative building to attribution.

We are a highly motivated group of engineers and data scientists, working in an agile group to solve sophisticated and high impact problems. We serve billions of ad requests every month with our high-performance ad servers. We build smart data systems that ingest, model and analyze massive flow of data from online and offline user activity. We use cutting edge machine learning, data mining and optimization algorithms to analyze data. Above all, we are passionate about delivering experiences that our customers and advertisers love.

You'll sweep us off our feet if...

  • You have developed scalable and performant frontend components and have a keen eye towards usability and making complex features easy to use
  • You're a technologist who solves problems in creative ways
  • You have an eye for detail and can articulate the specifics of quality design
  • You are curious and unintimidated working on projects spanning across the full stack
  • You have previous experience in AdTech and understand how to build products that fit
  • You have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • You can strong focus on end-user impact when you build software

What you will have:

  • 5+ years' experience software development w/ a bias towards frontend technologies
  • Extensive experience w/ frontend frameworks/languages such as React, Redux, and TypeScript
  • Experience writing lean HTML/CSS/JS and manipulating the DOM without the aid of other frameworks or libraries

Plus if you have:

  • Previous experience in the advertising domain
  • Experience or familiarity with other frontend frameworks such as Angular
  • Strong inclination towards exploring and learning new technologies

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00-$234,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
