Data Ventures exists to unlock the full value of Walmart's data by developing and productizing B2B data initiatives that empower merchants and suppliers to make better, faster decisions for the business. As part of this transformation, we're seeking entrepreneurial individuals to help drive data productization from concept to deployment.

What you'll do -

  • As systems engineering manager in Data Ventures, you will be responsible for managing the production support engineering function for large scale commercial grade data products and applications. You will be leading a global team of 10+ system engineers in North America and India Development Center.
  • Develop high-performing talent through effective hiring, mentoring, development, and coaching and lead production support engineering function for Tier-2 escalations on a 24x7 environment.
  • Standardization of monitoring and alerting to detect and notify health of application services across Data Ventures products.
  • Driving incident triage meetings with partners from Customer Support Agent Team (Tier-1 support), Engineering, Product, Data Quality and Enrichment teams to assess the impact and prioritize the issue tickets for faster resolution.
  • Focus on measuring and improving MTTD, MTTE, MTTR as part of incidents management.
  • Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity. What will you bring?
  • Driving and giving direction on production incidents within internal SLO, ultimately not exceeding the customer SLA.
  • Performing Problem management and RCA to proactively reduce production incidents.
  • Responsible for Infrastructure management on multi-clouds with a focus on resource optimization and saving the cloud cost.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical discipline.
  • 12+ years' experience in IT industry with 3+ years in people management to lead production engineering function for data ventures.
  • Depth of technical understanding and experience on technologies such as compute, storage, containers (Kubernetes), networking, workflow orchestration tools - Automic, Airflow, and a solid understanding of CI/CD pipeline concepts.
  • Experience in writing Database SQL queries to do extensive data analysis as part of resolving the incidents.
  • Understanding of distributed programming using Spark Python/Scala, troubleshooting, and fixing the data processing workflow jobs failures/slowness in a production environment.
  • Experience in managing micro service-based applications and data pipelines on multi- clouds environment (i.e GCP, Azure, AWS).
  • Expertise in setting up monitoring, alerting, building operational dashboards using tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog, Grafana, Spotlight, and Xmatters.
  • Experience in managing incidents, driving problem management, and conducting extensive RCA (Determining the root cause, key learnings, arriving at short term, and long-term action Items, measuring TTD, TTE, TTR) to remediate systemic issues and address process gap to proactively reduce incidents.
  • Experience working with cross functional teams (Product, Engineering, Data Quality and Enrichment, Info security, and platforms) across Geo to address customer impacting issues within MTTR.
  • Experience providing technical guidance and enabling production support engineering team to use and enhance runbooks, tools, and automation to aid in troubleshooting and resolving the issues.
  • Experience and knowledge of ITSM Support processes and related tools is mandatory for the Support Manager position.
  • Prior experience in managing B2B application and services is an added advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, good with people, ability to negotiate

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00-$286,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...
