Walmart's FinOps success is dependent on support from leadership and an ongoing cross-department collaboration across all of our markets and technology areas. Walmart is seeking a Senior Manager to help maximize the business value of cloud, enable timely data-driven decision making, and create financial accountability through collaboration between engineering, finance, and business teams.

As part of the Core FinOps Support team, you will be responsible for helping Walmart assess growth and investment opportunities in Cloud, driving the organization towards EDLC in technology, developing and managing and approach unit cost economic, and connecting cloud costs to business values and goals. This individual will drive a cultural change to remove blockers; empower engineering teams to deliver better features, apps, and migrations faster; and enable a cross-functional conversation about where to invest and when.

About Team:

In the Technology Strategy team, we address issues that need cross-departmental input and involvement with senior executives throughout the company. While in the FinOps team, we develop partner networks to support increased productivity, speed, and innovation.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Manager of Production Management, you will be responsible for:

  • Establish Cloud FinOps governance process (primarily within the Sam's & International Tech) aimed at optimizing decision making at scale. While this effort will focus on Cloud, you will be working across departments to establish a well-defined process to identify opportunities for greater investment and greater efficiency.
  • Collaborating with a Core FinOps team to facilitate a cultural shift toward a more wholistic view of cloud spend in the context of unit cost and business metrics.
  • Supporting Walmart's continuing efforts to compete as an EDLC tech service provider for across all the Walmart markets.
  • Understanding the unit economics of Walmart's cloud investment and continuing to connect Walmart's cloud costs to business value & goals.
  • Partnering with internal customers and partners in the FinOps community to establish best practices for Cloud FinOps in several FinOps Domains

What you'll bring:

To be a successful Senior Manager of Product Management for Cloud FinOps, you should have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Master's degree in computer science, or a Master of Business Administration.
  • Seven or more years of experience with and responsibility for financial planning and analysis, with at least five years of experience forecasting and managing cloud spend, preferably in the retail industry.
  • Certification as a FinOps Practitioner and an understanding of FinOps Personas and how these related to FinOps Domains and Capabilities.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies alongside some experience using tools like Confluence, JIRA, and experience writing project plans with lightweight markup languages such as Markdown or Asciidoc.
  • Experience with cloud cost analysis and prediction tools based on systems involving BigQuery, Databricks, or Fabric to process data with Excel, Python, or Jupyter Notebooks in support of cloud spend analysis. Experience communicating with senior executives in both Finance and Informational Technology on topics related to Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), FinOps, and Cloud. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
