What you'll do...
- Lead and navigate with applied expertise and an in-depth understanding of the highly complex world of global logistics services, including but not limited to the international freight forwarding and the NVOCC industry.
- Cross functionally support the commercial strategy for global logistics services provided by Walmart to third-party customers.
- Lead the development and implementation of a procurement strategy for specific service categories (for example Ocean FCL, LCL, Air Freight and Port Drayage)
- Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness.
- Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy.
- Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events.

What you’ll do in this role:
- Category Strategy and Management: Identify savings opportunities and plan, make recommendations, and execute for high-spend, complex, mature categories. Ensure delivery against business goals by making recommendations to reduce risks to the business. Review category segmentation and suggest optimization based on category needs and changes. Assess plan effectiveness and adapt based on performance and industry and category trends. Build business cases as needed to influence leadership on category strategy. Develop and track supplier performance metrics and influence supplier selection. Recommend process changes as required. Build Total cost of ownership / cleansheet models and make informed buying decisions.
- Source Selection: Gather supplier intelligence to understand changes in industries and products. Position category for future source selection and business allocation based on supplier intelligence. Make recommendations to mitigate risks in more complex local and global supply chains. Manage complex events and complex categories and drive cost efficiencies. Execute multiple business plans and projects simultaneously. Create appropriate RF(x) application (for example, auction, proposal). Deliver various financial modeling options. Conduct financial analysis of complex total ownership and landed cost scenarios. Recommend measures for risk mitigation related to sourcing selections.
- Problem Solving: Lead problem-solving efforts for complex and ambiguous problems, question assumptions, and identify potential consequences and risk levels. Use varying problem-solving approaches and techniques as needed. Devise and make recommendations and guide implementation of corrective and preventive actions for complex issues. Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple functions to drive the recommended solutions. Utilize expertise to proactively anticipate and prevent problems.
- Data & Digital Literacy: Evaluate and communicate requirements for advanced analytical tools to the appropriate teams for development. Apply advanced analytics techniques to enable real-time decisions and data-led actionable insights and ability to deploy appropriate models for analysis. Define policies for data governance and creates techniques to validate data quality. Identify potential challenges and introduces new technologies while planning for effective change management. Partner with Data Science teams to build, test, and implement solutions in support of financial objectives.
- Financial Acumen: Understand business choices and impact on financials. Assess financial realities, identify key opportunities, track financial performance, and forecast future changes to mitigate risks in the area of responsibility. Perform advanced analyses to make informed decisions and implementation plans to maximize return. Develop business centric solutions that align to strategy and enable performance optimization. Communicate the business level impact to diverse audiences and ensure understanding.
- Negotiation: Conduct range of negotiations for the business area. Assess and lead fact-based decisions in high-risk situations and educate others on negotiation strategies. Mitigate and resolve disagreements by proactively anticipating objections and adjusting negotiating approaches. Adhere to and coach others on company and regulatory retailer-supplier relationship processes, values, and policies. Mitigate risks through due diligence. Seek guidance on and escalates complex legal and/or regulatory issues as needed. Distribute verbal and written communication to counter other parties' position and set foundational structure for desired outcome.
- Contract Management: Interpret, advise, and review contract terms, conditions, and deliverables and work with suppliers to establish delivery plans. Support the drafting of non-standard, custom contracts for large-scale contracts. Identify risks between multiple contract clauses, apply contractual remedies, and enforce contracts as needed. Support in implementing changes resulting from new or modified laws and regulations. Advise on the exercise of extension options, contract expiry, and transition management.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Implement strategies to identify and develop new and emerging suppliers to close technical, cost, or performance gaps. Develop and maintain supplier relationships through structured management processes and effectively engage with supplier account teams across multiple business lines. Conduct regular supplier business reviews and develop strategies to improve supplier performance. Leverage supplier relationships to manage risks, address issues, and ensure contract requirements are delivered. Serve as escalation contact for major issues with supplier performance.
- Influential Communication: Lead discussions with varying viewpoints. Present to and influence diverse audiences across divisions using appropriate frameworks and tools. Leverage fact-based data and analytics insights from multiple finance and business domains to build a cohesive narrative, form an argument, organize thoughts, and present in a clear and concise way. Demonstrate decision and coordination skills when faced with conflicting or ambiguous inputs. Act as a trusted advisor to diverse business partners, influencing them to act as needed to move the business forward. Provide respectful, effective, timely feedback to others. Seek, internalize, and utilize feedback to make changes.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
