As Senior Manager of Membership Acquisition at Sam’s Club, you will play an important part in driving Membership growth for years to come. We are looking for a talented, highly analytical leader who will generate and utilize data-driven insights to inform decision-making across membership strategy & performance team. If you are an effective collaborator who is adaptable, strategic, agile, and combines a member-first mindset with a bias for action to quickly drive results for our members and for the business, this role is for you.

What you will do...

  • Business Strategy & Planning: Contribute to strategic business reviews and financial planning processes, leveraging historical data and external growth trends. Define strategic initiatives focused on achieving goals and positively contributes to overall company performance.
  • Performance Reporting: Support the performance reporting of the organization, both retrospective (e.g., weekly performance, MBR, QBR) and forward-looking (e.g., forecast, daily planning). Generate, monitor, and analyze performance metrics, understanding business drivers and areas that could become opportunities or risks to the results. Provide insights and recommendations for optimization.
  • Cost Management. Monitor budget performance versus plan, identify any discrepancies or inaccurate data. Track and report key performance metrics to measure efficiencies. Attend recurring budget reviews and ensure that any variances are clearly explained and communicated.
  • Project Oversight. Facilitate the implementation of strategic initiatives and effectively engage various stakeholders, including establishing and setting up the forums to accelerate projects. Anticipate challenges, problem solve, quickly adapt to change, and recommend action plans.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with multiple internal leaders (Marketing, Finance, Data Science, Product, Operations, E-commerce) and external stakeholders from alignment of strategic initiatives, reporting requirements, to in-market execution of multiple projects.


  • Perform other duties needed to contribute to membership goals and organization’s values.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in retail, retail merchandising, membership/subscription, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in leading and completing cross-functional projects and experience working with Marketing, Finance, Data Science, Product, Operations, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business administration or related field.
  • Experience in delivering forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis and data interpretation of results.
  • Background in business strategic planning; leveraging data-driven, analytical approach to problem solving and decision making.
  • Proficiency in developing dashboards and executive-level presentations.
  • Demonstrated record of delivering results in large, complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong attention to details and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have a sense of humor.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
