About Finance and Strategy Team
Our Finance team at Walmart comprises trusted leaders who are dedicated to becoming a world-class finance organization, powered by top talent and cutting-edge technology, to support customers and shareholders alike. In this role, you'll support the Hardlines business, which includes School & Office Supplies, Sporting Goods, Automotive Parts and Service, Hardware, DYI, Patio & Garden, and Live Plants.

What you'll do...

  • Act as a strategic thought-leader, bringing strong financial acumen and analytical capabilities to drive sizable, complex, cross-functional results.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Prepare detailed financial analysis and modeling to support the financial planning process. Recommend future expense targets and collaborate with cross-functional areas to analyze business performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Risk Management: Manage and monitor complex control structures to mitigate the risk of financial misstatements. Guide cross-functional teams in developing new processes, ensuring proper controls in both new and existing financial functions, and work to enhance the transparency of company financial reporting systems.
  • Communication & Documentation: Maintain continuous communication with functional areas to understand significant financial variations. Document and prepare results for presentation, and provide follow-up or address any questions regarding financial issues to ensure clarity and understanding.
  • Business Decision Support: Develop and produce complex financial models that incorporate assumptions, expectations, and known risks. Prepare presentations and other supporting materials for business recommendations, participate in business case presentations to senior and executive management, and communicate forecasts, assumptions, and variances effectively to senior management.
  • Build strategic relationships to facilitate business decisions and expedite actions.
  • Develop actionable insights to solve business problems and identify opportunities.
  • Enable strategic initiatives by providing thought leadership and support for cross-functional projects.
  • Identify business growth ideas and create risk mitigation plans.
  • Transform ways of working by leveraging new technologies and processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field with 4 years' experience, or 6 years' experience in the same areas.
  • 3+ years' experience in Analytics, Planning, Business Management, or Omni-Channel Merchandising.
  • 1+ years' experience leading cross-functional projects.
  • 1+ years of senior leadership decision support and influencing experience.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail and results-oriented with a sense of urgency.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
