What you'll do...
About Team:
We are looking for a Senior Manager, Data Science to design and develop state-of-the-art models to power Product Search across Walmart's multiple international markets. This is a high-impact and high-visibility role within the organization with high expectations to deliver cutting-edge AI/ML models and solutions that will power Walmart's online business. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for owning several projects that broadly use AI and ML and working in a cross-functional organization to implement the solutions and deliver the results.
What you will do:
- Effectively communicate to technical and non-technical stakeholders, both verbally and through written communications, at all levels of organization.
- Bring in bleeding-edge academic research and industry practices and demonstrate originality and creativity in developing novel solutions for Search.
- Working on projects with substantial ambiguity to delineate and effectively identify and communicate the right directions and drive consensus from engineering, product and business stakeholders, and be able to carve out roadmap and deliverable plans. Be comfortable with flexible business requirements and dealing with competing objectives.
- Mentoring junior and senior level data scientists to grow them as future experts or leaders.

What you will bring:
- Have a MS/PhD in relevant technical degree (preferably Computer Science, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering etc.) with 5+ years of work experiences with 2+ years of experience in managing data scientists.
- Strong track record of delivering impactful Search related products as a manager.
- Ability to dive deep into the problems and mobilize the team to identify the solution quickly and identify opportunities for iterative improvements.
- Must have a deep background in NLP, Search Science, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Optimization, Algorithm and Software development.
- Must be strong familiarity with all aspects of search including typeahead, query understanding, retrieval, relevance ranking and the relevant models that power those features.
- A deep knowledge of Python, SQL, PySpark, Machine Learning Libraries, Big Data processing systems in cloud environment is expected.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00-$286,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
