Develops metrics and performance indicators. Contributes to strategic business decision-making regarding key initiatives. Outlines business cases to be developed and drives the delivery of work that has meaningful return on investment to the business. Develops new, enterprise-wide processes and ways of working. Models industry best practices. Proactively engages in the external community to build Walmart's brand and influence industry practices. Influences and shapes the business vernacular. Monitors trends in the retail industry and likely impacts on the organization. Demonstrates awareness of the competitive landscape, preempting competitor moves and taking appropriate actions in advance. Explores untapped market potential opportunities and potential entry strategies for key categories/products/SKUs with suppliers and vendors. Reviews Walmart's against the market/competition and identifies opportunities to strengthen and optimize WMGS positioning with suppliers. Strategizes market penetration plans for new/existing products with new/existing suppliers and monitors progress. Strategizes across markets and product categories. Drives quarterly/annual market planning and budgeting exercises based on market potential. Creates new business models with suppliers to achieve efficiencies and develop strategic alliances. Monitors the industry for innovations in inventory management practices, technology, and tools. Coaches team members on using inventory levels to enable automated, timely replenishment. Demonstrates in-depth experience of the management of high-volume or high-cost inventory in multiple locations. Describes issues and considerations for implementing vendor-managed inventory capabilities. Helps define and promote best practices for inventory management. Participates in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of inventory systems. Reviews the impact of digital technologies on the overall organizational strategy. Drives process efficiencies and enables cost reductions. Provides input on process improvements using existing/new-age technology solutions across Marketplace operations. Identifies potential resistance to change among stakeholders and proposes mechanism to resolve through training using tools, process changes, or communication. Plays a leadership role in designing the Marketplace retail strategy. Evaluates planned sales and supports Marketplace strategies and transition approaches. Predicts the enterprise/industrywide impacts of all major retail trends. Shares industry experiences and major case studies. Monitors industry trends and directions. Makes recommendations to senior management. Evaluates and communicates the implications of all major Marketplace-related trends. Investigates new ways to align business processes with organizational goals. Monitors business process improvement (BPI) application trends in various fields (for example, financial and customer service). Modifies BPI approaches. Develops new approaches to BPI. Leads the development of BPI best practices within the organization. Leads in defining organizational strategic goals, purposes, and customers. Coaches team members on how to change the performance of BPI. Demonstrates the ability to develop and execute effective negotiation strategies that enhance long-term relationships at the enterprise level. Establishes Marketplace objectives and tactical approaches for negotiations (for example, new pricing models, new ways of contracting). Uses persuasive arguments to influence others to achieve optimal procurement outcomes. Approves agreement structures for complex negotiations. Own the overall strategic direction for Marketplace operations and ensures alignment with broader Walmart strategies. Oversees and reviews long-term plans for Marketplace operations. Approves Marketplace strategies. Owns the alignment of the Marketplace strategy with individual strategic business unit goals. Prioritizes strategic initiatives from the leadership level. Assesses the competition. Oversees pricing and promotional strategies. Supports the determination of usage of On Time In Full (OTIF) performance in merchant decisions (for example, features, modular points of distribution, top-2-top meetings, supplier awards). Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning. Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent. Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy. Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals by sponsoring and leading key community outreach and involvement initiatives; engaging key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives; and supporting associate efforts in these areas. The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00-$260,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
