Centrally controlling master data, optimization configuration and automation for our best-in-class transportation management systems is critical to enabling the business to meet customer demand efficiently and effectively. This team is at the crossroads of operations and technology to optimize transportation shipments for the best cost and service. To do this, the team manages data, works with operations for improvement, and drives changes and enhancements to system configurations and optimization parameters.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Analyst to join our Carrier Relations team. As a Senior Analyst, you will be responsible for the receipt and input of all documentation related to carrier onboarding, with a focus on reviewing prospective carriers for adherence to insurance and safety guidelines. Key responsibilities include aiding in the gathering of necessary items from carriers to expedite the onboarding process, ensuring all contract and insurance requirements are up-to-date and complete, and reviewing carrier applications for approval or denial based on insurance, safety, and operational standards. You will be part of a team that performs continuous monitoring on qualified carriers to ensure compliance with Walmart standards through a prescribed qualification process, while also building and maintaining ongoing relationships with carriers to drive external capacity growth.

Additionally, you will need to check internal and external carrier management systems for carrier qualifications and confer with Corporate Safety for all exceptions to policy. Furthermore, you will assist qualified small to mid-sized carriers in completing all necessary paperwork required to set up as an approved carrier and maintain the status of activity and documentation in the company's outsource capacity database, ensuring white glove onboarding through the use of documents and videos to ensure each carrier onboarded is successful. Strong interpersonal skills are crucial in this role, as you will be expected to interact cooperatively and collaboratively with others as a team, including those holding divergent and/or opposing views and goals. You should also possess the ability to lead and influence in a matrix organization.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for planning and executing events, carrier meetings, and performance review meetings. Strong presentation and communication skills are required to develop and communicate informative presentations and strategies for stakeholders and managers to gain understanding and consensus. This role requires a very strong relationship management skillset, as you will be expected to become a subject matter expert for supported business units and negotiate with external transportation leaders. Practical knowledge of conventional fact-finding, problem-solving, and investigative techniques is essential to develop, critically analyze, and evaluate inspection facts. An understanding of laws, regulations, and safety rules regarding materials from the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is preferred.

  • Analytics and Strategic Decision-Making: Conduct in-depth investigations into key drivers of transportation challenges, leveraging extensive datasets and performing ad hoc analysis. Utilize the insights gained to make informed and strategic business decisions.

Candidate must have's:

  • A background in F reight B rokerage O perations and/or FTL T ransportation O perations (+1yr)


  • Experience with C arrier P rocurement and/or C arrier M anagement (+1yr)

The annual salary range for this position is $60,000.00-$110,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
