About the Team (Marketing Technology)

Our Marketing Technology team is part of Walmart Global Tech. We are group of engineers and data scientists. We are building the next generation marketing technology platform to drive traffic to Walmart's eCommerce sites and stores globally. We build advanced Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technology on Walmart's proprietary online and in-store data to facilitate our customers shopping experiences.

What you will do:

The Group Director of Engineering will be a key technology leader of our global team of about 200 engineers and data scientists. The role entails the following responsibilities:

• Lead a team of senior engineering leaders and architects to build and run the next gen marketing technology platform globally.
• Partner with product, operation and sales leaders to contribute to and execute the product and technology roadmap.
• Hire, develop and build a world class engineering organization including senior architects and engineering leaders.
• Proactively monitor, identify and solve customer issues.
• Establish a culture of product innovation, platform thinking and engineering excellence.

What you will bring:
• Domain expertise in running largescale B2B systems with high availability. Expertise in AdTech, MarTech and/or eCommece is preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in running large (200+) engineering organization and managing senior engineering leaders and architects.
• Working knowledge of multiple distributed technologies ( e.g. GCP/Azure, Spark/Storm, Kafka, Key Value Stores, Caching, Solr, Druid, etc.)
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Experience in influencing across functional boundaries.
• Proven ability to hire, mentor and grow top engineering talents.
• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, and 20+ years of industry experience.
• Previous Start up experience in Data, AdTech and/or eCommerce.
• Biased towards innovation.
• Customer empathy.

The annual salary range for this position is $254,000.00-$481,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and
8 years' experience in software engineering or related area.

Option 2: 10 years' experience in software engineering or related area.

5 years' supervisory experience.
