The Walmart Ready Case Beef Plant in Olathe, KS is one of the largest Case Ready Beef Plants in the United States. We provide our customers with the freshest, high quality of ready case beef at everyday low prices for families. As a Food Quality Assurance Supervisor in Manufacturing you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality control within a food production facility, ensuring that products meet food safety regulations and company standards by monitoring production processes, conducting quality checks, identifying and addressing issues, and implementing corrective actions, while requiring a strong understanding of food safety practices, HACCP principles, and excellent communication skills to effectively lead a team and maintain compliance.

What you will do...

  • Conducting routine quality checks on production lines
  • Reviewing quality control documentation and reports
  • Investigating quality issues and initiating corrective actions
  • Training production staff on food safety procedures
  • Coordinating with other departments to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the production process
  • Attending meetings with management to discuss quality issues and improvement initiatives
  • Maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements through regular audits and inspections

What you will bring...

  • Monitoring production processes: Regularly inspecting production lines to ensure adherence to established quality standards, including ingredient handling, processing steps, and packaging procedures.
  • Conducting quality checks: Performing sampling and testing of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to verify compliance with specifications regarding microbiological, chemical, and physical parameters.
  • Identifying and addressing issues: Investigating non-conforming products, identifying root causes of quality problems, and initiating corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Implementing HACCP principles: Ensuring that the facility adheres to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) guidelines, monitoring critical control points, and documenting necessary records.
  • Training and development: Providing training to production staff on food safety practices, quality standards, and proper documentation procedures.
  • Compliance with regulations: Staying updated on relevant food safety regulations and ensuring the facility meets all necessary compliance requirements.
  • Reporting and documentation: Maintaining detailed records of quality control activities, including inspection reports, test results, and corrective actions taken.
  • Food safety knowledge: Deep understanding of food safety principles, HACCP, GMPs, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Analytical skills: Ability to analyze data from quality checks, identify trends, and interpret results to make informed decisions.
  • Attention to detail: High level of focus on identifying even minor quality issues during inspections and testing.
  • Communication skills: Effective communication with production staff, management, and regulatory agencies to clearly convey quality concerns and corrective actions.
  • Leadership abilities: Ability to lead and motivate a quality assurance team, ensuring they are effectively performing their duties.
  • Problem-solving skills: Identifying the root cause of quality issues and implementing practical solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Technical skills: Familiarity with laboratory techniques, sampling methods, and relevant quality control equipment.

The annual salary range for this position is $50,000.00-$100,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:

Minimum Qualifications...
