As the Director of Digital Strategy for eCommerce, you’ll lead a team in answering the question “How do we get more members online?”. You’ll be responsible for developing comprehensive strategies that drive funnel health: increasing digital awareness, digital engagement, and ultimately shopping penetration. You’ll need to foster a deeply collaborative culture, building partnerships with cross-functional teams to develop strategies to enhance performance.
What you'll do...
- Building best-in-class digital onboarding journey flows, leveraging the convenience of digital engagement as a reason to join Sam’s Club. You’ll collaborate closely with membership and marketing teams to build targeted, personalized experiences that increase digital awareness and engagement.
- Leading strategic initiatives to increase total site traffic. You’ll be responsible for the planning and forecasting of site traffic and driving action across teams to hit annual traffic targets by platform.
- Leading conversion rate optimization strategy and initiatives; collaborating cross functionally with Product, UX, Marketing, Digital Merchandising, and Post-Purchase teams to hit or exceed CR targets.
- Driving digital engagement and penetration strategies to ensure full funnel health: Getting more members aware, engaging, and shopping online more often.
- Developing, with user research and analytics data, a deep understanding how our members engage with us digitally, what matters to them, and solving for pain points.
- Leading the implementation of new processes and/or technical solutions to help scale efficiency and best-in-class workflows and timelines, embedding operational excellence into everything you do.
- Building a culture of excellence, developing talent, and putting members at the heart of solutions.
- Building talent, leading teams, and influencing with cross functional partners to meet business targets.
- Anticipating next generation customer needs and rising market competition, driving innovation in business strategies and product development.
You’ll sweep us off our feet if…
- 8+ years of experience in digital marketing and/or ecommerce
- You are a strategic thinker who can collaborate across departments to develop holistic marketing initiatives
- You can traverse a wide range of programs with ease and fluidity, while providing guidance and mentorship across cross functional teams.
- You possess strong presentation and communication skills and can “paint the story” of where we’re going and how to get there.
- You have an entrepreneurial, creative, and challenger mindset with a passion for building best-in-class member experiences.
- You have at least 4+ years of direct supervisory experience.

San Bruno, California US-08848:The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00-$286,000.00
Bentonville, Arkansas US-09930:The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
