About the Team
VIZIO is looking for Software Engineer to join our Inscape Core Engineering Team. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic developer to build large scale platform features for our automated content recognition (ACR) system. You will be responsible for developing innovative solutions with a close-knit team, focusing on challenging problems that make a difference in our business. The ACR platform is highly scalable, and capable of processing millions of operations per minute coming from millions of TVs, efficiently store petabytes of data and provide fast insights from the data. This position will be in Denver, CO.
What You Will Do
- Be part of a dynamic team that builds a scalable, future proof offering in a high growth area of VIZIO
- Work with Product, Program, QA & DevOps to make sure your projects meet business, scaling, alerting and monitoring, compliance, and security needs
- Improve code quality through unit tests, test automation, and code reviews
- Be accountable to delivery
- Quickly come up to speed on current ingestion, detection and data pipelines, cloud services, identify areas of improvement and adopt industry best-practices for data processing, movement and management of high-volume data.
- Adopt industry leading design patterns around Data ingest, detection, compute, lifecycle and consumption
- Drive continuous improvement of delivery performance and quality in an agile environment
- Write product or system development code.
- Review code developed by other developers and provide your feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
- Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
- Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on code, hardware, network, or service operations and quality.

About You
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years of professional software development experience or demonstrated involvement in software engineering internships and co-op programs
- Clear and effective communication skills and have a track record of delivering high quality and highly scalable software.
- You're excited about complicated problems, but also make sure they drive to solutions
- You've worked in Agile (or related) environments and development lifecycles
- Have worked in environments with multiple development languages to solve discrete needs depending on the system involved (e.g., C / C++ / Java / Python / Golang)
- Appreciate the challenge of translating highly technical product offerings and concepts for a wide variety of audiences, elucidating the "why", not just the "what"
- Have a proven ability to self-motivate and be independent, as well as capable of operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Strong analytical skills, innovative and results oriented with strong customer focus
- Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work in a very fast paced environment.

For Colorado-based employment: The minimum salary for this position is $96,000/year. In addition to base salary, the compensation package also includes eligibility for an annual bonus, as well as equity and a range of medical, dental, vision and other benefits.
