About the Team
VIZIO's Technology - Software and Services team is seeking an Engineering Manager to join their growing Application Platform team. The Engineering Manager oversee the work of developers, creating plans, tracking progress, ensuring quality and timeliness. The Engineering Manager will report tour Senior Manager of Software Engineering. This position will have several direct reports distributed worldwide. We pride ourselves on being a collaborative team here at Vizio and to accomplish this, we are in office 5 days a week in our Dallas, TX office.
What You Will Do
- Development: Take an active role in all phases of the software development process, from requirements through delivery.
- Planning: Manage Team's priorities and plans.
- Process Improvement: Implement policies and processes as needed to improve throughput, quality, and visibility.
- Get Your Hands Dirty: Occasionally assist with development tasks, testing, and bug triage, to assist team with release commitments, to gain a deep technical understanding of the product, and keep your technical acumen sharp.
- Quality: Meaningfully contribute to the quality of the product, including holding a high bar of functional quality, and overseeing the underlying design and code

About You
- Ability to deal with conflicting priorities.
- Great at collaboration and negotiation.
- Ability to cultivate professional relationships to achieve business objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of experience in software engineering.
- At least 2 years of experience in leading software development teams.
- Experience with embedded systems is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Python and C / C++ is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to commit to and meet release timelines.
- Experience with developing and maintaining multiple active versions of a product.
