Powering our clients’ business through Value-Added Services (VAS) is a key strategic pillar for Visa globally, aimed at diversifying Visa’s revenue with products and solutions that differentiate its network and deliver valuable solutions across other networks.

The Asia Pacific (AP) Value-Added Services (VAS) team is accountable for the operating performance and growth of Visa’s VAS business in AP. Within the VAS business in AP, Acceptance VAS is one of 4 suites of solutions (the other 3 being Issuing VAS, Risk & Identity VAS, and Advisory services). The solutions teams partner closely with VAS specialist sales teams as well as generalist sales teams to deploy solutions to clients across markets in AP.
What the Solutions Lead, Acceptance VAS, does at Visa:
- Develop and execute a multi-year product strategy for the AP Acceptance VAS business, which considers nuances relevant to the AP markets, e.g., market structure (including fintech and marketplace ecosystem), existing and emerging payment acceptance methods, local regulation, mix of digital payments, and opportunities for inorganic growth).
- Provide thought leadership on the evolution of the acceptance landscape in AP and its implications for Visa and our clients.
- Closely partner with Global Acceptance Product leaders to deliver on-time, on-budget Acceptance VAS solutions in the region (e.g., solutions that solve the needs of sellers across the ecosystem (from enterprise to micro merchants), acquirers, payment facilitators, marketplaces, and software players who have embedded payments within their offering.
- Develop and deliver regional product roadmaps that extend Visa’s relevance beyond our core network assets. This includes:
- Structure solutions to address challenges among AP Acceptance clients.
- Help inform the OKRs of the global Acceptance VAS business by providing regional input for AP.
- Identify and inform the Global Acceptance Solutions product leaders of local market changes, client feedback, and product requirements.
- Deliver best in class Products and services that exceed client expectations.
- Drive continuous innovation and outsized revenue growth through disciplined iteration of both short-term revenue opportunities and longer term “big bets.”
- Partner with regional Commercialization leaders to build, execute, and monitor go-to-market motions so Solutions are easy to sell and easy to buy. This includes:
- Develop a Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy, which may include new products, bundles, or campaigns, based on local market needs.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders including Sales and Client Services to execute the GTM strategy
- Structure client implementations to ensure a seamless and effective rollout of new solutions
- Enable Visa and partner Sales channels.
- Inform pricing guidelines with market intelligence, and
- Partner with GTM, Commercialization, and Strategy Lead to shape regionally-relevant Sales narratives across client segments, which are tightly aligned with Product roadmaps.
- Architect client-centric joint solutions including build, implementation, and post-launch optimization:
- Support selling teams in understanding clients’ business and technical needs and defining solutions to meet them
- Link Acceptance Solutions with other Visa Product Domains and Client Segments (Issuing, Risk) to provide greatest value to the client.
- Deliver technical and product integration demos.
- Lead a team that provides pre-sales technical advice; and
- Work with clients through implementation and post-launch optimization.
- Build and manage a team of Acceptance VAS specialists within the region, which collectively is seen as an indispensable resource to build and deploy next generation Acceptance Solutions
Qualifications
- 15 or more years of relevant work experience, ideally with expertise in payments product development and management on the seller side of the payments ecosystem, e.g., acquirers, processors, gateways and payment facilitators.
- A minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in highly successful businesses that have a strong track record of client service, strategic development and execution.
- Strong technical aptitude, with ability to interface with 3rd-party technology providers and internal product development teams.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of Visa’s Acceptance products and services.
- Solution focused connect the dots and leverage Visa best practices, unafraid to make timely decisions in ambiguous, high pressure situations, quick to adjust/recover and reset priorities in changing circumstances.
- Strategic thinker who can balance big picture strategy and detailed, flawless execution.
- Exceptional collaboration and influencing skills with the ability to drive consensus in regional and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to structure and manage complex cross-enterprise projects and processes with multiple stakeholders at both senior and junior levels, both internally and externally
- Superior analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
- Excellent verbal and written skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex technical and business issues and solutions to a variety of stakeholders
- Ability to understand the depths of the AP marketplace dynamics including the regulatory environment, technological and consumer behavioral shifts tying this back to impact to Visa
