Job Description

Team Summary

The Consumer Solutions group manages Visa’s core products base consisting of Credit, Debit and Prepaid payments solutions as well as the benefits platforms that function across all product categories – together, these are Visa’s core products. The team is also responsible for leading the transition of these conventional card-based solutions to digital form factors, ensuring Visa payments solutions remain the market-leading way for consumers to spend their money and manage their payments across the Asia-Pacific region. The team has also recently widened its remit to include Acceptance Solutions development focused on small and medium sized businesses, with a view to improving the acceptance experience for consumers across the region.

The role is based in the Singapore Market Support Centre and will report to the SVP, Products & Solutions, Asia Pacific as a key leader within the regional Product team.

What the Vice President (VP), Head of Consumer Solutions does at Visa:

A key thought-leader in the Asia-Pacific payments industry, as the Head of Consumer Solutions, AP, you will be responsible for initiatives to drive the expansion of Visa’s core consumer products and the related PV and revenue across the region. This remit incorporates product development and management across Visa Debit, Credit, Prepaid and includes management of card benefits as well as Small and Medium Business acceptance solutions.

  • Leadership of a team of product and payments subject matter experts in Singapore and across Asia-Pacific, executing on Product Development, Campaign Management, project management and initiative execution best practices
  • Leading the development and execution of Visa’s Affluent strategy, including the development and launch of the planned Ultra High Net Worth proposition and Premium Benefits strategy across Asia-Pacific
  • Growing Visa’s consumer payments market leadership in AP by putting in place tools, resources, insights, thought leadership and other resources to enable continued product expansion across AP
  • Working closely with in-market teams to understand key growth barriers and develop mitigation strategy and at the same time, identify high potential new business opportunities to launch credit products and provide support from the initial pitch to ongoing portfolio management
  • Development, roll out and monitoring of financial performance indicators for Visa products across segments, consisting of gross/net revenue targets, A&P budgets, product metrics
  • Providing thought leadership and guidance to Product and other business teams in Asia-Pacific on consumer payments across the region working with Corporate Affairs and Marketing teams
  • Launch of new solutions using Visa’s products and capabilities or through fintech, loyalty partners, merchant co-brand partners, merchant enablers, providers of seller solutions, low cost acceptance device manufacturers and other third parties 
  • Sponsorship of Visa Rules updates and innovate to drive Product Rule flexibility where necessary
  • Provision of Subject Matter Expertise (SME) support on client activities, client consultation and project delivery to all Asia-Pacific markets
  • Driving Visa preference amongst our issuing client base through execution of the initiatives outlined above, working in close collaboration with our Relationship Management and other client-facing teams
  • Interface with key clients from time to time assisting them with consumer payments product support
  • Driving technology and alliance partners and develop solutions / business opportunities that will provide value added services to Visa clients to support new product launches, issuer customization, and activation and usage programs
  • Business planning, management reporting, analytics, budget management and adherence to compliance standards across all activities

Qualifications

What you will need:

  • 15+ years of experience in product development, product management and strategy, including a minimum of 10+ years business experience in Financial Services and Payments
  • Extensive payments industry experience with a strong partnership focus combined with a deep perspective on the trends influencing the industry
  • Card issuer, merchant or network experience managing a P&L, preferably across a variety of markets. Similar experience in other vertical industries, such as airline, retail and ecommerce is also valuable
  • Proven experience in development of payments strategies and an ability to constructively challenge the status quo and experience exploring transformational ideas from conceptualization to commercialization
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make things happen at pace, within complex and often ambiguous environments and to influence senior executives and other relevant parties.
  • Ability to think big and launch “industry leading” ideas. Experience combining products or business assets in non-traditional ways to create new opportunities
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
  • Outstanding executive communications skills as a spokesperson for Partnerships within Visa and across the industry. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex technical and business issues and solutions to a variety of stakeholders
  • Experience of working in a global matrix organization with the ability to navigate complex structures and empower decision-making locally
  • Ability to understand the depths of the AP marketplace dynamics including the regulatory environment, technological and consumer behavioral shifts tying this back to impact to Visa
  • Demonstrable leadership skills and business vision, with proven capability to work with senior leaders and teams across geographies and functions.
  • Track record of leading and developing people with a proven ability to attract, hire and train top talent
