Job Description

This position is ideal for an engineer who is passionate about solving challenging business problems and building applications that provide an excellent user experience. You will be an integral part of the Payment Products Development team focusing on design and development of software solutions that leverage data to solve business problems. The candidate will be extensively involved in hands-on activities including POCs, design, documentation, development, and testing of new functionality. Candidate must be flexible and willing to switch tasks based on team's needs. 

• Responsible for the design, development, and implementation.
• Work on development of new products iteratively by building quick POCs and converting ideas into real products.
• Design and develop mission-critical systems, delivering high-availability and performance.
• Interact with both business and technical stakeholders to deliver high quality products and services that meet business requirements and expectations while applying the latest available tools and technology.
• Develop code to ensure deliverables are on time and with good code quality.
• Coordinate Continuous Integration activities, testing automation frameworks, and other related items in addition to contributing core product code.
• Present technical solutions, capabilities, considerations, and features in business terms. Effectively communicate status, issues, and risks in a precise and timely manner.
• Perform other tasks on R&D, data governance, system infrastructure, and other cross team functions, on an as-needed basis
• Expertise with the Java/J2EE and Web technologies like Spring Boot, Javascript, JSON, and JQuery
• Expertise with Spring, Angular, and Hibernate frameworks
• Experience in REST web services.
• Knowledge and working experience on Git/Stash, Jenkins, and Jira
• Experience with database technologies like MySQL, Redis and SQL
• Deep knowledge of Unix/Linux
• Experience in working with Agile and DevOps frameworks
• Experience using frameworks and tools like Selenium, Cucumber, TestNg, Maven
• Knowledge of Automated Test-Driven Development or Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• Knowledge of CICD tools like Jenkins, Bamboo
• Proven experience delivering highly scalable and available production systems.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and communication/articulation and reporting skills.
• Strong business acumen, ability to grasp big picture and explain to team in simple terms.
• Track record of hiring and managing world-class software engineers.
• Number of years of relevant experience is little flexible if you have excellent track record
• Experience with Agile methodologies, leading scrum ceremonies and software development lifecycle principles
• Ability to manage multiple competing top priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate the logic and implementation plan to team members & managers
• Quick learner: self-starter, detailed and thorough
• Demonstrate Visa's core values and maintain a positive and open demeanor
• Payment processing background is a big plus

Good to Have

Experience in open-source Big Data ecosystem (Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Kafka)

Experience in Load runner scripting and execution, Docker, AI Testing

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
