Job Description

 

Visa U.S.A. Inc., a Visa Inc. company, needs a Staff SW Engineer (multiple openings) in Austin, TX to

  • Develop next generation mobile payment applications; write solid code following best development practices.
  • Work as a part of scrum team executing the products requirements working with UX, product management and other teams in an agile manner.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for Android platform.
  • Develop mobile framework and UI based on best practices.
  • Execute POCs for visionary initiatives. Work independently and provide guidance to junior developers.
  • Position reports to the Austin, Texas office and may allow for partial telecommuting.

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
 

  • Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, followed by 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a software engineer-related occupation.
  • Alternatively, employer will accept a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a software engineerrelated occupation.
  • Kotlin, Java, Android Studio, mobile architecture and MVVM design pattern
  • Android Application Patterns
  • Creating apps that consume RESTful APIs
  • APIs, Service oriented architecture with technologies including Java, MySQL, TomCat, Kubernetes, or similar technologies
  • Data structures, algorithms and software design optimized for mobile platform
  • Coding practices including design documentation, unit testing, GIT source control and peer code-reviews
  • Android OWASP security practices
  • Android Studio and Gradle build
  • Jenkins and SonarQube
  • SDLC, security requirements, and multi-tier application development with hardware interaction, and an understanding of network protocols, test driven development, SDK development - maintenance and support.

Additional Information

Worksite: Austin, TX

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Travel Requirements: This position does not require travel.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $155,709.00 USD to $199,300.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for an annual bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position is eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Employee Stock Purchase Program, FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time off and Wellness Programs.
