  • Work on emerging technologies, building highly scalable, secure, reliable and fault tolerant distributed systems.
  • Collaborate with project team members (Product Managers, Architects, Analysts, Software Engineers, Project Managers, etc.) to ensure development and implementation of new data driven business solutions.
  • Drive development effort End-to-End for on-time delivery of high quality solutions that conform to requirements, conform to the architectural vision, and comply with all applicable standards.
  • Collaborate with senior technical staff and PM to identify, document, plan contingency, track and manage risks and issues until all are resolved.
  • Present technical solutions, capabilities, considerations, and features in business terms.
  • Effectively communicate status, issues, and risks in a precise and timely manner.
  • Partner with Product on implementation strategy.
  • Participate in design and code review sessions as appropriate, to ensure the quality of work delivered by self and teammates are in accordance with development standards.
  • Find opportunities to create, automate and scale repeatable analyses or build self-service tools for business users.
  • Position reports to the Foster City, California office and may allow for partial telecommuting.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a Staff SW Engineer-related occupation.

Experience must include:

  • Python
  • Java
  • Agile development incorporating TDD
  • Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
  • Utilizing: GIT, Maven, Jenkins, Chef, Sonar, JUnit, and/or Mock frameworks
  • Developing large scale, enterprise class distributed system or subsystems that require high availability, low latency, and strong data consistency computing.

Additional Information

Worksite: Foster City, CA

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Travel Requirements: This position does not require travel.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $147,368.00 USD to $211,600 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for an annual bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position is eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Employee Stock Purchase Program, FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time off and Wellness Programs.
