Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and ambitious Software Developer to partner with Visa Consulting & Analytics and co-develop a data cleaning and delivery solutions to help Visa’s clients grow their businesses.

What we expect of you, day to day

  • Develop a deep understanding of Visa’s data assets, how they are produced and how they relate to each other
  • Collaborate with internal and to some extent external stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements
  • Offer technical implementation options, design and implement an efficient, extendable and well maintainable software system using Python and SQL
  • Work together with a product owner and a client-facing sales manager and clients in an agile fashion to develop and continuously improve the software solution

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

You must have:

Background in computer science, at least at a Bachelor level
2+ years of experience in the work force
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced, data-centric environment
Strong knowledge in Python, SQL and software design principles
Understanding of the steps required in cleaning and transforming datasets
Ability to communicate and engage with non-technical stakeholders
Experience with agile ways of working
Experience with owning the design of a software solution
Experience with continuous improvement / continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices

You might have:

Actively participated in bringing something to market or in the successful launch/commercialization of a product
Experience in payments, banking, or a consulting-like environment
Commercial experience with Big Data systems such as Hadoop and Spark
