Visa Technology & Operations LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Staff Software Engineer (multiple openings) in Foster City to
- Implement web applications and services utilizing big data technologies.
- Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards.
- Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and in accordance with the company’s budget.
- Develop security and integration components for data security and privacy.
- Integrate Visa’s enterprise application for authentication and access.
- Provide third-level support to business users.
- Research and evaluate a variety of software products.
- Participate in reviewing solution designs and code review.
- Work closely with different stakeholders, such as project manager, product owner and other cross-functional teams.
- Work with architects, systems analysts, project managers, and other developers to successfully implement business requirements while applying the latest available tools and technology.
- Position reports to the Foster City, CA office and may allow for partial telecommuting.
Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, followed by 8 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a software engineer-related occupation.
Qualifications
Position requires experience in the following:
- Five years of experience with web and web service development using Java or J2EE
- Development experience in a cross-platform, multi-tier environment
- Data structures and algorithms
- Open-source framework experience, such as Angular, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, or JQuery
- Microservice development and API automation
- Cloud & Container based deployment
- Message based application development using JMS, MQ Series, or Rabbit MQ
- Relational database and SQL development
- Data modeling principles
- Test automation and continuous integration using Selenium, Jenkins, or Bamboo
- SQL/NoSQL data storage mechanisms, Elastic Search
- Version control (GIT, Stash) and bug tracking (Jira) tools
- Agile development
- Third party APIs

Travel Requirements: This position does not require travel.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $191,275.00 to $221,400.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
