  • Responsible for SQL Server Database design, development, deployment, life cycle management, migration, and automation efforts.
  • Install, configure, and support SQL Server HADR, Clustering, Replication topology, Encryption, Partitioning, Performance, Backup, Security, SSIS and SSRS services.
  • Implement deployment standards, recommendations, operating procedures, and cost-effective Active-Active solutions. Implement SQL Server Cloud Deployment model and standards, Integration, and onboarding to cloud platforms.
  • Implement and support complex SQL migrations and optimization part of consolidation and technology reduction efforts.
  • Review, analyze and implement License optimization, consolidation, and version compliance standards for SQL Server Infrastructure across Visa.
  • Perform proof of concepts, onboarding and certification of new SQL versions and tools.
  • Automate and Integrate SQL Server version upgrade, patching and security standards.
  • Create Internal dashboard and reporting for Inventory discovery and metrics using Power BI and SSRS services.
  • Write and maintain PowerShell scripts for DB Deployment, patching and automation efforts.
  • Provide L3 project support for escalated incidents, problem investigation and performance optimization.
  • Position reports to the Highlands Ranch, Colorado office and may allow for partial telecommuting.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, followed by 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a database engineer-related occupation.
  • Alternatively, employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a database engineer-related occupation
  • Database architecture or design;
  • Database consolidation;
  • Database administration;
  • Performance tuning & monitoring;
  • SQL Server Cloud Deployment model and standards;
  • Data replication technologies: Always-on, Golden Gate, and P2P
  • MSSQL technology lifecycle;
  • Automation of MSSQL deployment; and
  • Developing enterprise solutions to support MSSQL in areas like backup, monitoring, alerting, security compliance, and patching.

Additional Information

Worksite: Highlands Ranch, CO

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Travel Requirements: This position does not require travel.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $134,826.00 USD to $179,900.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for an annual bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position is eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Employee Stock Purchase Program, FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time off and Wellness Programs.
