Job Description

The Senior Analyst of Strategic Sourcing, leverages multiple sources of internal and external data to support category strategies that ultimately drive a competitive advantage and value for Visa.  As a key support role for the Strategic Sourcing Services organization, you are accountable for understanding various tools, data sets and process that support the Strategic Sourcing organization. You will need a strong sense of urgency and the ability to balance short vs. long term needs. This role will support the sourcing category leads and will also independently lead deals based on the category strategy.  You are accountable for enabling strategies to deliver sustainable results across a range of subcategories by identifying new opportunities for value and process improvement.

The role will report into the Director Of Sourcing

Responsibilities

  • Manage and analyzes large datasets, and information sources to support Category leaders in development of Category Strategies, Negotiation plans, and internal discussions
  • Builds relationships and effectively partners across varied functions with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, agencies, and colleagues to influence change
  • Creates, writes, negotiates, and reviews supplier contracts. Works with internal business partners to establish agreements that reflect the interests of the company
  • Works with legal counsel and other stakeholders to negotiate terms and conditions of the contracts
  • Participates in supplier selection and moderately complex contract negotiations, involving Legal and other departments as necessary, to achieve favorable terms on quality, delivery, and price, and ensure end-user needs are met and deliver cost savings
  • Manages multiple processes and requests and sets expectations
  • Provides high level education to business partners on the overall continuous strategic sourcing process from needs identification, through supplier performance management across multiple partners
  • Maintain external focus by leveraging industry peers, organizations, associations and by continuing to build strong relationships outside of Visa
  • Communicates effectively and frequently, listens carefully, and actively seeks and values the perspectives of others
  • Drives completion of simultaneous projects by proactively considering new alternatives and driving critical thinking to optimize results
  • Builds effective strategic relationships with external suppliers to foster open and collaborating communication
  • Project Manager for key initiatives for the Strategic Sourcing team
  • Support various category leaders in developing supplier plans with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation
  • Contributes significantly to the achievement of defined category performance targets and assists in driving the performance of associated suppliers, measure supplier’s performance to ensure performance meets expectations
  • Support a high level of change management initiatives that require a strong understanding of external industry best practices and implementation of Visa wide policies
  • Support the implementation of Global Sourcing policies and procedures

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in Procurement with a bachelor’s degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA,)
• Deep understanding of cost models and performance metrics
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills using tools such a Microsoft Excel Ability to use tools such as PowerPoint
• Past experiences in helping develop business cases for change through leveraging business acumen, market intelligence, and insights to drive a broad strategic impact across an organization
• Demonstrated contract and agreement negotiation experience, including development of negotiating plans and strategies
• Strong stakeholder relationship-management skills and ability to communicate effectively, and collaborate with, senior-to-exec management
• Excellent written, oral and presentation skills and an ability to synthesize information and make clear, concise recommendations on course of action. You need to be able to tell compelling stories through insights and data
• Proficiency in English: The candidate must have excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken. This includes the ability to effectively present information, respond to questions, and write reports and business correspondence in English
• Proficiency in purchasing systems and organizational interfaces (including, Ariba, Coupa, DocuSign, and Oracle)

Preferred Qualifications
• 3 or more years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
• Experience in strategic sourcing using a formal 7 step sourcing process.
• 2+ years supporting the development and management of category plans or sourcing strategies specific to indirect categories
• Experience working in a global and matrix organization
