The Opportunity: 

We are looking for Versatile, curious, and energetic Sr. Software Engineers who embrace solving complex challenges on a global scale.  As a Visa Sr. Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of a multi-functional development team inventing, designing, building, and testing software products that reach a truly global customer base. While building components of powerful payment technology, you will get to see your efforts shaping the digital future of monetary transactions. 

Platform Product development is going through transformation to drive adoption for Click to Pay across multiple regions with more authentication mechanism and payment features. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be integral part of this transformation and will be solving challenging business problems and build highly scalable and available applications that provide an excellent user experience. 

The Work itself: 

• Design code and systems that touch 40% of the world population while influencing Visa’s internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability 
• Collaborate multi-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings 
• Actively contribute to product quality improvements, valuable service technology, and new business flows in diverse agile squads 
• Develop robust and scalable products intended for a myriad of customers including end-user merchants, b2b, and business to government solutions. 
• Leverage innovative technologies to build the next generation of Payment Services, Transaction Platforms, Real-Time Payments, and Buy Now Pay Later Technology 
• Opportunities to make a difference on a global or local scale through mentorship and continued learning opportunities 
• Use GENAI and Copilot assist you better to develop and test code

Essential Functions:

• Design, document and implement new systems, as well as enhancements and modifications to existing software with code that complies with design specifications and meets security and Java best practices.
• Full-stack development contributes to the design of backend databases and queries, API creations and consumptions, and contributes to frontend UI development. 
• Interact with both business and technical stakeholders to deliver high quality products and services that meet business requirements and expectations while applying the latest available tools and technology
• Have a passion for delivering zero defect code and be responsible for ensuring the team's deliverables meet or exceed business expectations
• Identify opportunities for product innovation and strive for improvements to best practices, standards and processes.
• Works independently with minimal insight to develop software that conforms to Visa’s high standards of security, quality, performance, resiliency, and compliance.
• Mentor junior developers to ensure deliverables are on time with good code quality
• Coordinate Continuous Integration activities, testing automation frameworks and other related items in addition to contributing core product code
• Supports test engineers and operation teams in troubleshooting, defect research, issue root cause analysis, and other related activities. 
• Effectively communicate status, issues, and risks in a precise and timely manner

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs. 

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or related technical field required with minimum 3 to 6 years of experience as a Java Full-Stack Developer.
• Experience with JAVA
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs
• Experience with Spring Technologies
• Experience with putting up diagram solutions (flow, block, logical)
• Experience with JavaScript and front-end technologies/frameworks like JQuery, ReactJS, Angular
• Experience architecting solutions that is secure, resilient, and scalable
• Experience working within a Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipeline
• Knowledgeable about Database technologies like Oracle and NoSQL solutions
• Knowledgeable about network architecture, VIPS, and Firewalls
• Knowledge or experience in test automation development
