Job Description

Commercial and Money Movement division’s charter is to capture new sources of money movement through card and non-card flows, including Visa Commercial Solutions, Government Solutions and Visa Direct which presents an enormous growth opportunity. Our team brings payment solutions and associated services to clients around the globe. Our global clients and partners deploy our solutions to serve the needs of Small Businesses, Middle Market Clients, Large Corporate Clients, Multi Nationals and Governments. B2B Acceptance is part of Visa Commercial Solutions vertical of Visa’s Technology organization. We are responsible for designing, developing and implementing Virtual Cards, payables & acceptance commercial platforms to drive incremental revenue. We develop new offerings/products and enhance existing Visa Commercial Solutions product lines including Commercial data processing, B2B Acceptance platforms. We are looking for Director of Engineering to join our B2B Acceptance team based in Bangalore,India

In this leadership opportunity, you will lead B2B platform/product development team to directly impact the solutions delivery with engineering excellence, payment systems, data engineering re-architecture, product research, experimental designs, metrics innovations and adoptions to enable us strengthening every area of the business. You will pursue these challenges as a senior technical thought leader and work closely with product/technology organizations, client services, operations and program management office. In addition to leading a world-class team, you will influence business and technical strategies to help us solidify our Visa’s vision and continue our quest to revolutionize the future of B2B payments at scale.

 

 

Essential Functions

 

· Aligns DevOps & Quality engineering best practices and evangelizing industry best practices for Developer Experience.

· Guides the implementation of automation to improve effectiveness and efficiencies of systems and tools across regions and supports development and

implementation of new automation, identifying where investment will yield the greatest efficiencies.

· Leads automation of quality assurance process inclusive of unit, systems, integration, regression and performance

· Provide technical insights to support release planning, including user stories breakdown, tasks assignment, and backlog grooming, through elicitation and clarifications of user stories and requirements with business stakeholders and communication of IT dependencies.

· Maintains communication with regional leadership & product across functions to monitor and direct the cadence of software test and release life cycles.

· Responsible for agile end-to-end development process within the construct of DevOps practices and methodology

· Support users during their user acceptance verification.

· Partner with business for market research across the B2B acceptance eco system to understand the key impediments to Visa commercial transactions.

· Lead strong partnerships key stakeholders including product management, engineering, design, and operations.

· Articulate with both technical and business partners to create effective frameworks to aid the discussion of complicated topics.

· Support agile ceremonies: sprint planning, daily stand ups, sprint review and sprint retrospective.

 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
8+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications
· 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD

· Mentor, coach, manage and motivate a high performing team of senior engineers, managers (including managers/director-level) and set clear priorities to achieve goals and KPIs.

· Skilled at CI/CD using automation tools such as Chef, Jenkins, Puppet, Ansible.

· Must be proficient in one or more scripting languages: Unix Shell, Perl, Python, Java

· Must have experience in automation of quality assurance for unit, systems, integration, regression and performance .

· Must have experience in debugging and troubleshooting problems in Linux/Unix-based application servers such as Java backend and microservices environments.

· Must have experience in an AGILE environment and should have exposure to testing environment migration, DB, and infrastructure/system upgrades.

· Experience in implementing Developer Experience best practices

· Must have experience in a technical capacity and quality methodology/release process to provide guidance and leadership to junior team members as required

· Ability to technically lead a small group of DevOps engineers & QA Engineers

· Exposure to any public/private cloud administration

· Skilled in conflict management and negotiation to achieve project goals and develop trust with stakeholders

· Flexible attitude, great team player, highly driven individual and ready to work with multiple time zones cross-geographical teams

· Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. In particular, a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical and business issues and solutions to different organizational levels

· Evangelize developer productivity solutions and systems across all teams to drive more adoption.

· Lead feedback/influence high end technical processes for seamless software development & release engineering
