Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage software development teams, facilitating effective communication, empowering team members, and fostering a collaborative environment.

  • Collaborate with leads to design effective technical solutions.

  • Manage the planning, scheduling, and implementation of software projects, guaranteeing they are finalized within the designated timeframe and budget.

  • Manage multiple projects and initiatives with different or competing timelines and demands.

  • Collaborate with leads to design effective technical solutions.

  • Collaborate with business partners on requirements elaboration, design, configuration, and business re-engineering.

  • Communicate effectively with other teams, stakeholders, and upper management, providing regular updates on project progress and advocating for the team and its work.

  • valuate options and provide recommendations on the scope and scale of efforts required for implementation.

  • Identify, steer through, and overcome any technical or organizational challenges that could potentially obstruct the delivery process.

  • Align software development objectives with the company's strategic goals.

  • Collaborate with delivery partners to review and finalize technical specifications, code review, version management, and implementation-related activities.

  • Maintain a deep understanding of the technology stack and software development best practices, making informed decisions about technology choices and methodologies.

  • Ensure the quality of the software developed by the teams by establishing and enforcing quality standards, conducting code reviews, and overseeing testing and troubleshooting processes.

  • Mentor team members, helping them grow in their career by identifying their strengths and areas for improvement, providing constructive feedback, and supporting their professional development.

  • Possess the ability to manage and prioritize various tasks, demonstrate sound judgment and organizational skills, capable of working autonomously as well as collaborating within a cross-functional, regional, and matrixed organization.

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, including continuous integration, continuous deployment, and automated testing.

  • Provide support for spontaneous projects and initiatives as required.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and critical thinking skills.

  • Hire and develop a diverse team of talented engineers.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications
- 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD with few years in a leading team.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in financial services, banking, or FinTech.
- Deep understanding of enterprise architecture and operational best practices for building and maintaining highly available / scalable applications.
- Have experience with consumer facing application development.
- Proven track record of responsibilities as a technical lead.
- Experience with Java/J2EE, C#, Spring, TC Server, Kafka, RDBMS/NoSQL DB, JavaScript, React and container-based technologies, Backend REST API applications.
- Experience with translating business requirements into technical designs.
- Ability to work effectively with teams in different geographical locations.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 141,900.00 to 205,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
