Job Description

The Senior Director of Payables is responsible for a team of product owners, and management of a suite of products serving financial institutions and their clients around the world, including middle market businesses, large enterprises, and public sector entities.  The Payables team is part of the broader Visa Commercial Solutions (VCS) organization responsible for growing all flows between businesses and governments, from SMBs to the largest global corporations.  Payables product owners are located in the United States, Australia, and Poland .  The technology team working closely with the product team sits in Poland.

The Senior Director of Payables will play a central role in advancing our Payables product strategy.  The role will be responsible for supporting the development of the strategy and then translating that strategy into a product roadmap and set of detailed requirements upon which their team will execute the strategy.  The role will lead the execution of the product development lifecycle, from inception to product launch. Payables will be the first solution to be launched within the Visa Commercial Solutions HUB.

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for identifying gaps in current market offerings, an innovative mindset for filling those gaps, ability to manage global teammates and work closely with technology partners.  This individual should possess strong critical thinking skills with a proven ability to lead the full lifecyle of product development.  The role will work closely with VCS Global and Regional product teams, and acceptance teams to deliver functionality to meet key customer needs and create competitive advantage for Visa. 

This role reports to the VP of Payables & Travel Experiences.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in product management or product development, specifically payables, buyer and supplier management
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA preferred
  • Highly effective in collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve mutual goals
  • Strong business acumen and a global mindset
  • Results oriented focused
  • Analytical with a fact-based consultative discipline
  • Exceptional writing and presentation skills
  • Self starter, able to work independently in a matrixed environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, specifically PowerPoint and Excel
  • Working knowledge of collaboration tools such as MS Teams and JIRA

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 163,800.00 to 256,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
