Job Description

The Senior Director, Investor Relations, will report to the SVP, Investor Relations and work closely with the C-Suite in a recognized best in class investor relations function. As an excellent communicator, both verbal and written, the Senior Director, Investor Relations partners with the SVP and VP, Investor Relations in proactively framing Visa’s story, successes, and opportunities for the global investment community.

Essential Functions:

  • Promote a full and fair valuation for the company through effective narrative development and disclosure review for 10Ks, 10Qs, 8Ks, earnings releases, and investor conferences and presentations
  • Manage the earnings process including review meetings, outreach to the business to gather themes, development of materials such as scripts, presentations and Q&A and supporting documents, and C-Suite preparation
  • Help execute on the company’s proactive investor outreach plan that includes participating in the appropriate investor conferences and other points of strategic engagement.
  • Monitor, report, and evaluate competitor financial results and other relevant disclosures.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to synthesize business intelligence, including real-time insights and analysis of analyst research, investor sentiment, and competitor activity.
  • Closely collaborate with executive staff members on corporate positioning to ensure consistency at all internal and external touch points.
  • Develop and maintain independent and direct relationships with the investments community and establish strategy for overall engagement

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• 12 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 10 years of relevant work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or 5 years relevant work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:
• 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
• Current or previous experience on an investor relations or corporate finance team at a high-growth payments or broader financial technology company.
• Understanding of valuation concepts/techniques used by analysts and investors, direct financial planning experience preferred.
• Strong financial modeling experience with the ability to partner with the company’s FP&A, Corporate Strategy, Accounting, Communications, and Legal functions.
• Understanding of general principles and regulations related to communicating with the investor/analyst community.
• Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and relationship building skills with the ability to convey company strategy and messaging.
• Proven oral and written communication skills, including experience developing and delivering presentations to executive management and Boards.
• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical acumen.
• Highly customer-focused with the ability to develop relationships at all levels.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• An innate curiosity about payments and the drive to pursue answers.
• An ability to create loyalty, trust, and following. One who can energize people and teams, and make cross-functional cooperation happen. This individual must be highly respected by both subordinates and superiors and demonstrate no ego.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 176,900 to 256,500 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
