Job Description

Visa’s Global Corporate Development team is responsible for helping shape Visa’s strategy by identifying industry trends, maintaining relationships with relevant external partners, as well as sourcing, negotiating, structuring, and executing strategic acquisitions across all of Visa's geographies and businesses. As the payment landscape evolves, we partner with regional and business executives as well as strategy functions to evaluate, analyze, and prioritize Visa’s M&A and larger strategic investments.

The Senior Director, Global Corporate Development will report to the Vice President, Head of Global M&A and be based in San Francisco, CA. They will play a pivotal role in leading the identification, evaluation, and execution of mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic investments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate development, strategic planning, and financial analysis, particularly within the payments, fintech and / or technology sectors.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of relevant work experience with a bachelor’s degree or at least 10 years of relevant work experience with an advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD) or a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience with a PhD


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in leading M&A transactions and strategic investments as a Corporate Development, Investment Banking, or Private Equity professional
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with financial modeling, valuation, and synergy analysis
  • Meaningful experience overseeing all aspects of a deal, from idea generation to due diligence and negotiations
  • Strong understanding of the payments, fintech or tech sectors with a combination of U.S. and international experience
  • Strategic, analytic, and innovative thinker with creative problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated thought leadership with ability to (1) influence executive stakeholders, (2) manage cross-functional teams to business outcomes, and (3) lead multiple transactions simultaneously while delivering on broader strategic initiatives
  • History of managing, mentoring, and developing junior talent

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel up to 25% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 192,300.00 to 278,850.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
