  • Work on emerging technologies, building highly scalable, secure, reliable, and fault tolerant distributed systems.
  • Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines, workflow, and state machine management.
  • Work on big data, streaming, distributed messaging technologies to meet the functional/non-functional business requirements.
  • Build and maintain the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, loading and integration of data from a wide variety of data sources, both internal and external.
  • Participate in design and code review sessions, ensuring quality of delivered work by self and team is in accordance with development standards.
  • Analyze input data elements across multiple sources and build data lineage for the Asset Management System.
  • Build core framework to manage various asset categories.
  • Analyze and select the best possible option for the network based on market competitiveness.
  • Continuous improvement of test strategies for quality delivery of solutions through functional and non-functional testing types.
  • Position reports to the Employer’s Austin, TX office and may allow for partial telecommuting.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or in a Sr. Data Engineer-related occupation.
  • Distributed software development, including data server-side, UI, and open-source software.
  • Knowledge of data structures, design, and analysis of algorithms, as well as developing data pipeline, including ingestion, transformation, extraction.
  • Programming Languages: Java, Python, Scala, SQL, R, and/or Prometheus.
  • Web Technologies: JavaScript, Spring boot, REST API, React JS, XML HTML, and/or CSS.
  • Databases: Oracle, MySQL, MS-SQL, Mongo DB, and/or TeraData.
  • Tools: Oracle Apps R12, Grafana Visualization Platform, Checkmarx Application Security testing Tool, Git, or GitHub.
  • Machine Learning: Scikit Learn, Supervised Machine Learning Models (Classification and Regression Models).
  • Big Data: Hadoop Architecture, Map Reduce, Apache Spark Framework, Spark Batch, and Stream Processing jobs.
  • Cloud Technologies: Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Explorer, Azure Data Lake Storage, and/or Azure Logic App.
  • Frameworks & IDEs: IntelliJ, Eclipse, Visual Studio Code, Jupyter Notebook, and/or Google Colab.

Additional Information

Worksite: Austin, TX

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Travel Requirements:  This position does not require travel.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $149,282.00 USD to $175,100.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
