  • Perform full-stack development to contribute to the design of backend database and queries.
  • Drive API creation and consumption.
  • Contribute to frontend UI development.
  • Develop software that conforms to Visa’s high standards of security, quality, performance, resiliency, and compliance.
  • Manage the design and delivery of one or more components of a project.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to team members contributing to various project components.
  • Create multiple design artifacts for projects and present designs to team members and other stakeholders.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
  • Work cross-functionally with Technical Product Managers to break down solutions into smaller achievable tasks.
  • Support Test Engineers and Operation teams in troubleshooting, defect research, issue root cause analysis, and other related activities.
  • Position reports to the Austin, Texas office and may allow for partial telecommuting.

Qualifications

  • Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, followed by 9 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a software engineer-related occupation. Alternatively, employer will accept a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and 7 years of experience in the job offered or in a software engineer-related occupation. 
  • Core Java.
  • JEE.
  • REST.
  • JavaScript.
  • Front end technologies and frameworks, such as JQuery, ReactJS, or Angular.
  • Application development frameworks, such as Vert.X, or Spring.
  • Security domain with authentication, authorization and the ability to build secure gateway.
  • Architecting solutions with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.

Additional Information

WORKSITE: Austin, TX

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Travel Requirements: Domestic travel required 2% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $139,464.00 USD to $212,700.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
