Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer – Backend for the Poland PPD (Payment Products Development) org, you will be part  of VCXP / Certificate Management team, which will serve as centralized platform for certificates CRUD operation, LCM and self served certificate management portal for our clients.

As a Senior SW Engineer, your day will be filled with absorbing, learning and mastering about multiple Visa’s applications, their architecture & functionality. Learn from them at the same time build this entire net new platform to serve certificates to Visa’s client.

Not only will you be building the new unique and advanced solutions for our clients, but you will contribute to exciting technology upgrades and tech initiatives.

You must love troubleshooting for this position.  There is a lot to learn, and we need someone who is up to the task to learn. Essential Functions:

• Develop, test, and deploy complex business solutions that process 100of thousands of requests with our business partners and their developers.
• Understand the requirements / design changes properly and solicit input from business and technology stakeholders across the enterprise and deliver app features / user stories and create a strategy plan to deliver the quality Product.
• Be responsible for the code quality & deliverable quality of large-scale product & technology initiatives.
• Perform Test Driven Development using Java, Angular, Springboot, MySQL etc.
• Conduct peer reviews for your code and others code and junit test cases.
• Lead root cause analysis for bugs and production issues and track defect resolution to completion.
• Review and provide feedback on development code, test designs, and test cases etc.
• Understand a complexity of Client centric application which deal with Clients doing business with VISA and its Products/API's.
• Help our product achieve their real goals by understanding their requirements and how they respond to their business needs.
• Use technologies that include Java, J2EE, Spring boot, Kubernetes, JPA, Hibernate, SpringBoot, MySQL/SQL database.
• Knowledge of NoSQL DB, Splunk, Tableau, and Angular is a plus.
• Analyze business requirements and architect a solution that is robust and scalable along with providing technical documentation of solution.
• Leverage new technologies to build the MCX (modern Client Experience) of VCXP platform.
• Develop and deliver new features every few days/weeks and be accountable for them end-end.
• Code review of your peers and guide them to follow right coding practices.
• Focus on building an efficient and collaborative team environment.

You will possess these qualities:

• You have demonstrable test driven development experience in the software industry.
• You have experience in application development frameworks like Spring, ORM etc
• You have experience with back end design patters, database designing.
• You should be well versed with writing complex DB queries using JPA, MS SQL or MySQL.
• Great Troubleshooting Skills mostly, love to get your hands dirty, and problem solving.
• Great communication skills. Comfortable working with product, architects, team members directly on requirements and problem resolution.
• You have the work and academic experience that will demonstrate proficiency and ease with programming languages, code quality initiatives, scripting languages and operating systems.
• You have amazing work ethic that will help us all work extremely well together.
• You have great sense of responsibility and accountability for your work.
• You have the passion to understand your system, product how things work people and to always striving to improve our products and services.
• Excellent team player, with strong collaboration & Communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional team for results.
• You having work experience in commercial software development on Unix/Linux and on docker or Kubernetes is plus.
• You having experience in consumer facing application development is plus.
• You having experience in architecting small scale solutions and working with team for timely delivery is plus.
• You having some experience of leading imp features or enhancements or your product, mentoring the team and managing timely deliverables is plus.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualification:

• 3+ or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 3-4 years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA)
