Job Description

The Visa Acceptance Platform team is looking for a Senior Product Manager for the Centralized Data Platform team. The Data Platform houses large amounts of data processed by various Visa products to enable organizations to leverage their data effectively, driving better decision making, innovation, and competitive advantage. The team manages the data infrastructure, tools, pipelines, governance, data models, integration mechanisms, data modeling and analytics products to develop insights and drive business decisions. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Product Manager to join our dynamic team and help us elevate our data platform to the next level.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy for the data platform in alignment with company goals.
  • Deeply understand customer needs, product analytics, and industry innovation to drive the product vision and strategy, maximizing business and customer impact.
  • Collaborate with relevant product and engineering teams to develop product plans that execute on the product vision and strategy, helping our engineering teams understand what problems they need to solve.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, data science, operations, privacy, and business stakeholders to deliver data solutions that drive strategic initiatives and operational excellence.
  • Fostering innovation in turning a Data Platform into a Data as a Product (DaaP), with a focus towards Data Catalog, Master Data Management to Data Observability, Data KPIs & Metrics, while continually exploring and implementing strategies to deliver value to our customers.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry advancements, influence their direction, and conduct thorough analyses to decide whether to buy or build solutions, making decisions that are based on getting the best return on investment.
  • Use your strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to address technical and strategic challenges in innovative ways, using data and intuition to make strategic choices when things are unclear or complex.
  • Lead and participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups to ensure a steady flow and success of the team’s work.
  • Promote a work environment that values metrics and encourages high-quality experimentation, setting high standards for measuring product success.
  • Continually seek feedback on all of our internal and external processes, always searching for opportunities to drive constant improvement.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• 8+ or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD


Preferred Qualifications
• 3+ years of domain experience in data analytics platforms, data analytics experience, or ML platforms.
• Bachelor's degree in relevant field (e.g. science, engineering, computer science, Information Systems). Advanced degree is a plus.
• Proven track record of managing and evolving a product portfolio and/or driving product vision and strategy
• Demonstrate strong experience and know-how in one or more of the following technologies: Compute engines (Hadoop, Spark, BigQuery), Streaming systems (Apache Kafka, Google Pub/Sub, Azure Stream) ETL Platforms (Apache NiFi, Google Dataflow, AWS Glue), and BI Tools (Tableau, Denodo, Power BI).
• Ability to collaborate with engineers in developing technical architecture, as well as leading commercial conversations with clients and vendors.
• Strategic thinker who can connect customer use cases to technology solutions and think holistically about the end-to-end experience
• Comfortable applying a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to define success
• Leverages product intuition and judgment to solve problems and make decisions without perfect information
• Curiosity to learn new domains, keep up with industry innovation, and constantly ask ‘why’
• Excellent communication skills, timely communication with clear expectations

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 119,700.00 to 173,650.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
