Team Summary

This Sydney based role has dual reporting lines to the Senior Director, Consumer Marketing in Melbourne and the Senior Director, Asia Pacific Insights & Analytics based in Singapore. The successful applicant will be a key member of the Visa marketing team; a passionate group with a high-performance culture responsible for our brand health and delivering best in class consumer, client and B2B marketing to drive business growth across Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific (AuNZSP).

The role is responsible for leading and delivering the research and insights projects and associated revenue, in partnership with our Visa Client Marketing and Visa Consulting & Advisory (VCA) teams. The Senior Manager, Insights & Analytics will also package and sell our insights and measurement capabilities to clients. The role will require close alignment with our Asia Pacific Insights & Analytics team.

What a Senior Manager - Insights & Analytics does at Visa:

  • Provides subject matter expertise for our Client Marketing and Visa Consulting project opportunities and proposals, beginning with translating business questions into research objectives and assessing if existing assets can be leveraged
  • Devises the best research methodologies for projects
  • Manages & maintains preferred research vendor list & identifies for each project the best vendor at best price
  • Oversees quality of proposals & outputs of research and insights projects to ensure client satisfaction and repeat client engagements
  • Project manages the research and insights work on behalf of the client marketing and VCA teams
  • Prospects, scopes, executes, & deliver insights for our clients and merchant partners, delivering incremental marketing services revenue
  • Generates insights to support the development of marketing strategy and plans
  • Develops Voice of the Consumer (VoC) content and other thought leadership insights for engagements with clients and merchants
  • Partners with the Director, Marketing BPO for the revenue pipeline management, operating expenses and revenue associated with client marketing campaigns/projects.
  • Works in close alignment with our Asia Pacific Measurement & Insights team

The Senior Manager, Research & Insights will play an integral role in ensuring we help our clients grow the number of active Visa credentials in market, increase customer engagement with Visa branded products and help transform the way the world pays.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

What you will need:

  • 10 years of experience in a global or multi-national business strongly preferred, including time in consumer research agencies and VoC insights roles. Preferably agency experience servicing clients
  • Experience in analyzing and reporting actionable insights, with great story-telling capabilities
  • Experience in generating insights that shape marketing strategies, plan and execution
  • Relevant graduate degree in Marketing, Market Research, Economics or related field required. Preferably with studies in psychology, sociology, anthropology
  • Capable of analyzing & synthesizing qualitative & quantitative information with excellent storytelling, presentation, verbal & written communication skills
  • Very strong commercial acumen as well as sales instinct
  • Experience working in cross functional teams and in managing multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Excellent client-facing communication and presentation skills, ideally from a sales or consulting background
  • Must be organized, proactive, curious and solution oriented looking for ways to contribute added value
  • Active team player & contributor with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Proficient in SPSS (or equivalent data mining tool) and MS applications including Excel and Power Point
  • Client focused mind-set
  • Strong attention to detail and deadline driven
  • Strong project/program management skills to successfully manage multiple, concurrent initiatives
