Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) is Visa's consulting division, serving Visa's clients (including card issuers, acquirers, and merchants) and solving their strategic problems focused on improving performance and profitability.  Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, payments, data analytics, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, VCA drives high impact and tangible financial results.

The VCA team within Australia provides a comprehensive range of consulting services and solutions to our clients in Australia and New Zealand, that address unique challenges in areas such as strategic growth, profitability, risk management and digital strategy.

Typical projects may include:

  • How does a financial institution increase market share in consumer credit cards?
  • How should a credit card issuer use emerging technology to acquire the best customers?
  • How does a financial institution grow their credit card portfolio while mitigating credit risk?
  • How does a financial institution optimise their product offering?

About the role:

As a Consulting Strategic Designer you'll use human centered design principles to create new, innovative engagement experiences across Australia, New Zealand, and South Pacific. Our

Reporting to the Director, Digital Practice Lead in Melbourne, you will plan, shape, drive, and collaborate with different client and internal stakeholder groups to co-create and progress our engagements across our clients. You'll personally be responsible for bringing the practical application of design to the overall engagement process and leveraging human-centred design skills.

You'll be involved in the early stages of research, ideation, storytelling, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams through the iteration and implementation process.

We value experience in, and passion for UX design, plus a proven track record of delivering high quality assets at pace with high impact. This role would ideally suit someone who is comfortable not only conducting and synthesizing research into insights and facilitating design thinking practices but also someone who has a desire to roll up their sleeves and produce design artifacts in a fast-paced environment.

  • Synthesising research into meaningful and emotive insights
  • Developing use cases fit for market and customer needs
  • Exploring the generational nuance around new forms of credit
  • Helping parents teach their kids about money
  • Helping create loyalty and unique experiences for affluent customers  

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two to three days a week, Tuesdays to Thursday with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

 

Qualifications

  • Lead by example and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to scope, design, concept test and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Conceptualize and use research methodologies that solve design challenges and uncover customer behaviours, pain points, needs and aspirations.
  • Conduct relevant research to validate opportunity spaces and identify client segment needs, trends, gaps, and overlaps.
  • Translate research insights into compelling stories that create consensus and motivate action.
  • Communicate visually through storyboards, wireframes, interactive prototypes and concepts.
  • Present design concepts to Senior Leadership and external partners.
  • Use divergent design thinking techniques to develop compelling products, services and propositions with clients, testing with customers throughout.
  • Bring human centered design to the rest of the Visa business through facilitation and collaboration.
