Job Description
We're seeking a talented individual for the role of Senior Manager, Consulting Delivery Lead based in Auckland.
This role, reporting into the Senior Director of Consulting Delivery, resides within the Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) team and will manage the execution of VCA client engagements across New Zealand and South Pacific.
Ideally the candidate will bring broad consulting expertise (rather than specialised IT or technical consulting experience) and possess deep experience within the payments and financial services industry.

VCA provides a comprehensive range of consulting services and payments solutions to our clients in Australia, New Zealand & the South Pacific, that address unique challenges in areas such as strategic growth, portfolio optimization, profitability, risk management, payments technology and customer experience.
The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Manager to lead and grow the New Zealand & South Pacific (NZSP) Consulting Delivery team.
The Senior Manager will partner with VCA’s Client Advisory leads to identify, design and deliver a broad range of consulting engagements that deliver exceptional value to Visa’s clients across NZSP.
Leading a small team of consultants based in Auckland, the Senior Manager will also play a critical role to connect with the broader VCA Consulting Delivery team based in Australia to source and coordinate the required skills, expertise and resources to deliver projects across NZSP.
Responsibilities
- Partner with VCA Client Advisory leads on account planning to identify, design and deliver a broad range of consulting engagements.
- Management of NZSP Consulting delivery team and project delivery pipeline
- Market and client knowledge sharing across the AuNZSP VCA Consulting Delivery team, to help identify opportunities and build the pipeline for each practice area
- Prepare client project proposals, clarifying objectives, scope, deliverables, approach, dependencies, pricing roles and responsibilities.
- Oversee project setup ensuring clearly defined roles and responsibilities, contracting documentation, stakeholder engagement, interview guides and client data requirements
- Design and deliver compelling presentations to illustrate findings, ideas, recommendations within consulting engagements and more broadly and at times support implementation at the client onsite
- Support and coaching to Delivery Managers (includes direct line management or through project delivery)
- Personal responsibility for the delivery of projects within domain of expertise e.g strategy engagements
- Quality control, ensuring consistent, high quality deliverables for all projects
- Knowledge sharing including case studies or methodologies that drive sales and delivery efficiency.
More generally:
- Create, develop and maintain VCA IP and consulting offerings
- Continuously build knowledge, surface new insights and produce thought leadership pieces that contribute to practice development and global best practice
Qualifications
Having already accumulated a variety of experience, you will be familiar with the payments industry and keen to work alongside an experienced team in gaining a deeper understanding. You will be client driven, comfortable managing a project end to end and relishing the opportunity to work closely with clients to influence their future performance. You will be intellectually curious and data-driven, always seeking to understand and solve complex challenges. Contributing to strategic engagements and influencing client outcomes is a key motivation for you.
Specific skills and experience you may bring are:
- 8+ years in strategy gained through management consulting experience in professional services
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
- Strong team orientation with a collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible style and be able to work effectively in a matrixed organisation
- Excellent detail orientation, ensuring the highest level of quality and rigour in reports and data analysis
- Excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and written capabilities
- Self-motivated, results-oriented individual with the ability to progress multiple priorities concurrently
- Experience in and passion for the power of analytics to inform and drive strategy and tactics, and proven ability to generate insights from data
- Strong commercial acumen, with experience in working on business cases that prove ROI
