Job Description

Visa Direct is a payment service that Visa provides to clients such as issuers, acquirers, processors, merchants and service providers to facilitate fund transfers & disbursements to Visa accounts around the world using push payment technology (e.g., Original Credit Transaction). Visa Direct consumer and business applications include person to person transfer, person to micro business transfer, funds disbursement, bill payment, cross-border remittance and more.

The Sr. Manager, Account Manager will work to drive sales acceleration for many of our largest, high priority global accounts. The team is uniquely positioned to develop strategic go-to-market insights and also has the ability to translate those strategies into actionable outcomes for regional sales and product teams.

This Account Management role will be responsible for partnering with sales leaders to achieve aggressive sales targets and ensuring breakout growth of Visa Direct.  We will be working in an agile environment, so this person must be aggressive and proactive to ensure we achieve our goals.  Must be able to pivot and adjust as new information and lessons learned come to light.

This is a matrixed, cross functional role so organizational savvy and interpersonal skills are critical, as we interface with specialized product groups, financial institution sales, digital partnership sales, client consulting, marketing, and corporate communications, legal, and finance to coordinate the end goal of achieving aspirational objectives. 

Visa is looking for an individual who is a thought leader in strategy and business growth with a consistent track record of success in fast paced environments with demanding timelines. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Meet Visa Direct's Global and North America yearly sales targets.
  • Drive Visa Direct growth through Global enabler relationships, surpass transactional targets, and introduce new solutions.
  • Support assigned enabler opportunities, including contract negotiations, new use case launches, and partnership presentations.
  • Understand Visa Direct's revenue drivers and ensure mutually beneficial deals.
  • Analyze and interpret data metrics, conveying insights to stakeholders, and creating actionable client-facing visuals and statistics.
  • Show a commitment to learning for the benefit of the client and Visa.
  • Manage growth in a matrixed organization with demanding timelines.
  • Lead account planning, pipeline strategy, and opportunity discussions across Visa.
  • Support sales acceleration strategy by identifying high potential targets, use cases, and verticals.
  • Cross-sell Visa Direct solution through partnerships with Visa Account Executives.
  • Collaborate with cross-regional partners to meet client needs.
  • Develop go-to-market strategies with the Visa Direct Product team.
  • Ensure regional cohesion with Acquiring and Digital Partnership teams.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to create excellent client-facing materials.
  • Share progress with external audiences through Communications team.
  • Represent Visa Direct at conferences/tradeshows for education and engagement.
  • Work with Finance on incentive structures and deal approval process.
  • Collaborate with Legal on client contracts for mutual success.
  • Ensure smooth transition from sale to implementation with Client Services.
  • Lead regular pipeline review and problem-solving sessions with sales teams.

 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a bachelor's degree or at least 5 years of relevant work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or a minimum of 2 years relevant work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • Creative self-starter with a bias toward action and consistent track record for successfully developing, building, launching and commercializing technology products that delight customers
  • Highly skilled problem solver with a strong focus on delivering for clients
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written, and executive presence, must be able to collaborate with our most senior client executives
  • Ability to explain complex business and technical concepts to a broad audience in an approachable way to drive adoption
  • Demonstrated thought leadership and the ability to think creatively and to identify new ways to approach common problems
  • Passionate about what you do and excited about the opportunity to transform payments working for the industry leader
  • Ability to inspire direct reports and influence those without direct management responsibility
  • Possess a high level of professionalism and leadership skills to build business relationships, trust and respect with business partners and suppliers
  • Strong team player, self-motivated and the ability to work independently at coordinating across functional activities, obtain consensus and elevate issues at critical junctures appropriately
  • Ability to operate in a highly matrixed environment
  • Financial payment industry knowledge required, push payments or real-time payments experience a plus
  • Foundational knowledge of open loop payment ecosystem including payfacs, acquirers, ISV’s, issuers, etc.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 192,300 to 250,000 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
