The Opportunity:  

We are looking for dedicated, curious, and energetic Senior Full-Stack Developer  who embraces solving complex challenges on a global scale. You will be an integral part of a cross functional development team building Visa Benefits Platform – a global value-added services solution. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Transform a monolithic application into scalable microservices and micro-frontends. 

  • Develop and maintain a common components library following Visa's design system 

  • Integrate and manage Storybook for UI components. 

  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable and resilient microservices using Java Spring Boot and Hibernate. 

  • Utilize Kubernetes and Docker for containerization and orchestration. 

  • Implement and optimize web application using Angular, TypeScript, and webpack. 

  • Develop REST and gRPC APIs for external and microservice-level communication. 

  • Lead and mentor team members, improving front-end and back-end practices and standards. 

  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and troubleshooting. 

  • Ensure high performance and responsiveness of applications. 

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes. 

  • Work closely with the UX team participating in Product Discovery.  

 

**We do not expect that any single candidate would fulfill all of these characteristics. For instance, we have exciting team members who are really focused on building scalable systems but didn’t work with payments technology or web applications before joining Visa 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs. 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications
JavaScript/TypeScript: In-depth knowledge and 5+ years of hands-on experience. 

Angular: Expertise in building dynamic web applications. 

Webpack & Webpack Federation: Proficiency in designing and implementation of micro-frontends. 

Java Spring Boot: Strong backend development skills  

Hibernate: Experience with ORM frameworks. 

Kubernetes: Knowledge of container orchestration. 

Docker: Hands-on experience with containerization. 

Microservices: Proven experience in designing and implementing microservices architecture. 

Storybook: Familiarity with UI component management. 

REST/OpenAPI: Experience with RESTful API design and development. 

Protobuf/gRPC: Experience with protocol buffers and gRPC for efficient service communication.
