Job Description

Visa is seeking a highly motivated Senior Event Manager to drive strategy and execution of select Visa events, including client conferences and trade shows. Reporting to a Director of External Events, this role requires a customer-centric focus and a strategic mindset while managing the conception, execution, content production, onsite management, and post-event reconciliation of select events.

Responsibilities include:  

-Program Lead for assigned events. Oversee project meetings and communicating clear agendas and follow-up actions with project team and key stakeholders. 

-Developing event project plans including strategy, goals, metrics, timeline and roles and responsibilities 

-Develop and execute trade show strategies and plans in alignment with company goals. 

-Develop and manage trade show budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions and adherence to financial constraints. 

-Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to create compelling booth presentations, promotional materials, and lead generation strategies. 

-Ensure compliance with all trade show regulations and requirements. 

-Train and manage on-site staff and volunteers to effectively represent the company and engage with attendees. 

-Track and analyze trade show performance metrics, including lead generation, attendee engagement, and return on investment (ROI). 

-Managing the vendor and venue selection process in coordination with Sourcing and Finance teams. Communicate with chosen vendors and suppliers throughout the event cycle.  

-Invoice and budget tracking. Escalating unforeseen changes to necessary stakeholders.  

-Event design and audience experience development, working with stakeholders to determine needs and desired outcomes for event audience 

-Hotel room block and venue management 

-Manage run of show, content production, audio visual needs and vendors 

-Attendee communications, registration management and mailbox management 

-Registration and mobile app development 

-Onsite delivery and execution 

-Post event reconciliation, surveys and reporting 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.  

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
-8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least
5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or
2 years of work experience with a PhD
-6-8 years of experience in event program management and operations with
tradeshow design and management experience

Preferred Qualifications
-9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or
more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters,
MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
-Demonstrated exceptional project management, organization and planning
skills applied in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment
-Must possess a passion for events and in-depth understanding of how events
engagement bolsters brand, drives regional and global business strategy,
supports business objectives, and aligns with the overall marketing and
communications strategy of a global organization
-Creative approach to development of event concepts – think outside the box –
with a desire to constantly innovate and improve all event aspects
-Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills,
particularly with senior executive level stakeholders
-Willing to challenge the status quo and look at things from a different angle
-Proactively bring forward new ideas and look for innovative solutions that help
simplify processes
-Self-directed personality that takes a proactive, hands-on role in problem
solving, decision-making, creating new procedures and innovating new ways to
enhance existing processes
-Strong customer orientation. Look to deliver impactful and beneficial meetings
for clients and attendees with a focus on quality
-Driven, self-starter with an ability to prioritize projects in a deadline driven
environment
-Must be able to facilitate domestic and international meeting programs, as
required. Job requires 15-20 percent overnight travel and from time-to-time
overtime and weekend work

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 142,200.00 to 206,350.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
