Visa’s Strategic Finance team is looking for a talented Senior Director within Finance organization to support our inorganic growth priorities. Our team directly supports Visa’s Head of Corporate Development with Mergers & Acquisitions and investments that are important to deliver on our strategic priorities.

This is a unique opportunity and calls for an ambitious and hard-working professional who will be highly visible across the business. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of capital markets, investment evaluation, transactions processes and mechanics, and an established track record of supporting deals in M&A Finance roles.

This position will be based in Visa’s San Francisco office.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure rigorous financial analysis, modeling, and due diligence to build business case for potential transactions, develop effective valuation tools for acquisition target that reflect company’s standalone trajectory as well Visa’ value creation potential after integration
  • Lead diligence from finance to conduct interviews with target’s management team (CEO, CFO, and others) to build an accurate business case
  • Design senior executive presentations for CFO, Investment Committee and Board of Directors to support transaction approvals
  • Support integration efforts and ongoing evaluation of transaction performance
  • Cultivate trust-based relationships and effectively communicate cross-functionally with the broader transactions team including Corporate Development, business partners, product, comptrollership, HR, Tax, and Legal
  • Structure approaches to evaluate transactions within the Payments industry, and provide fact-based understanding of competitive landscape to executive leadership
  • Manage a small team of outstanding analysts

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:
• 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience in finance, engineering, mathematics, economics, statistics, or related quantitative field.
• 10+ years of relevant financial analysis work experience, with 5+ years in corporate finance, investment banking or management consulting
• MBA and/or CFA preferred. Understanding of Payments industry and Visa’s business is preferred
• Strong track record of supporting transactions in an M&A Finance role within corporate environment
• Deep knowledge of capital markets and shareholder value-creation principles, both theory and practice
• Strong business acumen and commercial intuition required, outstanding problem-solving, analytical, quantitative skills, and an ability to resolve tough business problems with well-structured analyses
• Persuasive communications skills to build effective documents and lead presentations to senior business leaders
• Strong bias for action and ability to proactively identify and resolve issues. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and produce time sensitive deliverables
• Enthusiastic work ethic, passion for learning, and acute professional curiosity, strong ability to work with a balance of independence and well-solicited input
• Proven ability to build and lead high performing teams

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 181,800.00 to 284,050.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
