Job Description

  • Be the Controller of German and Polish entities, responsible for all accounting, finance, tax, statutory requirements and other related areas which form part of Visa’s Europe businesses including Technology HUBs

Perform advanced accounting and finance related tasks requiring judgement and analysis related to the local monthly Accounting close operations in the above-mentioned entities as well as other Visa affiliated companies

  • Own local GAAP to US GAAP interpretation of monthly accounting results, and reconciliations which are related to management reporting for the parent company Oracle and reconciliation of results prepared by third parties

  • Prepare monthly balance sheet and PL analysis, perform Intercompany reconciliation, settlements, review year-end financial statements, tax, VAT returns, transfer pricing calculations and other compliance filings

  • Treasury and A/P assistance, i.e managing controls around bank accounts and payments, backing up junior accountants in accounts payable process or monthly recurring journals when needed

  • Support of audit of yearly financial statements along with tax and third party advisors

  • Ensure compliance with local German and Polish GAAP filing requirements ie. Year End Financial Statments, Stat Filings, VAT, Tax

  • Responsible for the eventual transition from local accounting system to Visa Oracle instance

  • Collaborate closely with HUB team for all accounting and related topics and local third party based accounting teams

  • Ad-hoc projects and work as requested by management 

  • This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

    Qualifications

    • Strong educational background within Accounting, Bachelors or Masters level
    • Solid understanding of German HGB and Polish GAAP
    • Ability to analyze and support German and Polish Statutory and Tax filings
    • Minimum 5 to 7 years experience as Accounting Manager, Controller, auditor etc.
    • Advanced Excel skills
    Fluent in German, Polish and English
    • Experienced user/admin of Large Accounting Software such as Oracle
    • Resilient, organized, defines clear priorities and meets tight deadlines
    • Ability to quickly comprehend new processes, an analytical thinker
    • Structured, concentrated, and conscientious work ethic
    • Able to independently make decisions and direct junior team members
    • A team player and able to work with third parties and other internal resources such as HUB team
