Team Summary

The Engineering Team Lead is accountable to lead 1-2 cross-functional product delivery teams to deliver and maintain one or more areas of the Visa Spend Clarity Product and Platform.

What an Engineering Team Lead does at Visa:

Using your experience of building and coaching highly effective and empowered teams you will work with Product Managers, Practice Leads and other Engineering Management to deliver the best outcomes for our business and customers, this role is accountable for their teams and execute on the roadmap in alignment with the Technical and Delivery strategy.

With your people leadership experience, you will be coaching and facilitating a career path for your team encouraging a culture of continuous learning and improvement. You will be responsible for building a highly engaged team who is connected to the products and services they deliver.

What you will need:

  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle

  • Experience in leading, coaching and mentoring people and progressing their careers

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to adapt to the situation and audience

  • Demonstratable experience of delivering best in class software products and services in a commercial environment

  • Ability to rally people around a cause bringing clarity and direction to achieve positive outcomes

  • Experience in leading cross functional software teams.

What will also help:

  • Demonstratable understanding of agile methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, XP, Lean etc

  • Experience in Delivery and Engineering Excellence including CI/CD, Dev Ops, Test Automation etc

  • Understanding and experience in cloud technologies and platforms (AWS, Azure etc)

  • Demonstrated experience leading software teams to deliver value continuously.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

 

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:
• 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
• 7+ years working in a Software Development Environment
• 1+ years experience in leading and building highly engaged product engineering teams
• Experience in evolving culture and processes through empowerment and agility
• Experience in working in a rapidly growing technology company
• Ability to work with ambiguity bringing clarity through data and discovery
• Previous experience working with SaaS products and services
