Job Description

Reporting to the Vice-president of North America Data Products, you will be an integral part of Visa’s Data Products team, helping bridge client needs with relevant and impactful data products and solutions. You will do a mix of sales, product strategy, business development and analytics to craft solutions to meet strategic customer needs and focus on achieving client growth targets by working with Visa’s client sales and business development organizations to prospect customers, deliver sales presentations, and support the increase of Data Products’ client base.   The ideal candidate will have 10 or more years of related work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 7 years of related experience with an Advanced Degree (Business, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related technical field) or more than 13 years of relevant work experience.

As a Specialized Sales Director, you will:

  • Drive the go-to-market and commercialization of data products for North America for an assigned segment of clients and/or products

  • Be the technical and product subject matter expert who can work with the client and Visa sellers to explore commercial opportunities for data prodcuts for an assigned segment of clients.

  • Leverage Visa’s portfolio of data products to identify business growth opportunities in new and existing clients. 

  • Work alongside a cross-functional team from Product, Sales, Marketing and Business Development to build and drive strategic business goals for Visa.

  • Communicate effectively with executive leadership along with influencing others within and outside of the immediate business unit.

  • Deliver sales presentations across Visa clients including Government, third-party tourism partner, Issuing, Acquiring, Cobrand, Merchant, FinTech’s, among others.

  • Consistently manage the sales pipeline and key metrics to provide ongoing visibility towards goals and accurate revenue forecasting. 

  • Provide partner feedback to internal cross-functional teams to improve product feature offerings

  • Partner with Client Success and Operations personnel to ensure a frictionless client journey experience.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:
• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field
• Experience in Financial Services/ Payments industry
• Experience in Sales processes and pre-sales.
• Demonstrated thought leadership and the aptitude to think creatively and identify new ways to innovate and differentiate products with evidence of tangible business results.
• Self-starter with a bias toward action and proven track record for successfully developing, building, launching and commercializing payments products
• Experience at a Software as a service company is preferred, but not required
• Experienced working in matrixed organization across functions internally and with partners/customers, including product, marketing sales, sales operations and customer success
• Strong data analysis and analytical skills. Power BI, MicroStrategy, and Tableau hands on experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and presentation are necessary.
• Capable of conversing effectively with technical and non-technical customers and internal teams.
• Works with minimal direction.
• Self-motivated, works well independently as well as part of a team.
• Flexible and creative thinker with the ability to define business tradeoffs, generate out-of-the-box solutions and manage uncertainty.
• Some travel is required.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 150,400.00 to 218,050.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
