VAS enable Visa’s clients to deliver secure, reliable and convenient payments experiences for their customers. In fiscal year 2024, VAS revenue grew by 22%, and our top 265 largest clients now use on average 22 VAS solutions.

The NA VAS – Issuing Solutions team is accountable for financial and operational performance of Issuing Solutions in North America.
The role will support the Senior Director of NA Issuing Solutions across strategy and growth initiatives. The Director of Roadmap Planning & Growth Operations will be responsible for the regional product roadmap, working hand-in-hand with product and sales leaders to develop business cases and support for new product capabilities / enhancements, influencing product prioritization decisions, creating visibility for sales and business leaders into the status of requested functionality, and managing end-to-end quarterly planning activities for the region.
This role is essential for leading the discovery, definition and prioritization of product investments that open verticals and markets, enable client success, delight customers, ramp up partners, and drive our strategic and revenue goals. The Director will ensure the North America VAS leadership team is equipped with the data and insights to meet growth imperatives.
This position can be based in the San Francisco Bay area with minimal travel expected. The role reports to the Senior Director, Issuing Solutions for North America.
This is a hybrid position. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Responsibilities
Lead initiatives related to multi-year strategy for the North America VAS business, which considers nuances relevant to the region (e.g., issuer and partner ecosystem and client needs, local banking regulation, opportunities for inorganic growth). Work closely with cross-functional and regional teams, bringing timely and useful insights and analytical support to drive key initiatives in North America.
Drive continuous innovation and outsized revenue growth through disciplined iteration of both short-term revenue opportunities and longer term “big bets.”
Manage the North American region’s Issuing Solutions product roadmap.
Engage global product leadership to incorporate NA needs into global product roadmap, by
Developing business cases to support proposed product enhancements
Understanding, tracking, and coordinating dependencies in enhancement requests across various product portfolios
Identifying synergies across feature requests and working with product and solution leaders to rationalize backlog and / or solutioning more holistic approaches to solving client pain points
Serving as conduit for synthesizing client feedback for product requirement purposes to ensure “Voice of the Customer” is represented
Maintaining a prioritized backlog of feature / capability needs for the NA region by product portfolio based on “Voice of the Customer” insights
Develop use-case, segment, and client-specific perspectives on solutions that solve key client problems/needs. Support strategy development, informed by market sizing and competitive landscape for the products.
Enhance and optimize processes by which new enhancement requests are raised. Develop region-specific prioritization frameworks to support effective and fact-based prioritization.
Run NA region components of quarterly prioritization / planning processes.
Develop self-service reporting for sales leaders into status of proposed feature enhancements.
Develop reporting for regional leadership into financial implications of product roadmap (e.g., to support trade-off analysis and reprioritization exercises).
Influence product roadmap decisions for Issuing VAS across the broader Visa organization.
Support annual and quarterly budgeting processes.
Strong candidates should thrive on working independently within a complex and often ambiguous environment, to drive rigorous, fact-based recommendations to stakeholders and juggle multiple initiatives at once.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD •Bachelor's and 10+ years of relevant experience most likely found in technology portfolio or product management roles
Preferred Qualifications:
- 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
- Experience in and/or significant exposure to the payments industry preferred
- Experience with technical requirements collection, documentation, and management
- Ability to independently lead and manage projects with multiple workstreams, with proven leadership success over a wide variety of functional business problems
- Ability to structure and manage complex cross-enterprise projects and processes with multiple stakeholders at both senior and junior levels
- Superior analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor, attention to detail and ability to structure and analyze sophisticated financial modeling
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility as a peer with functional and regional leaders within Visa
- You are a strong self-starter, team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 178,400.00 to 228,750 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
