Job Description

We are looking for a Director, Enterprise Communications – Culture and Change to create and drive employee engagement and communications strategies supporting Visa’s business priorities, culture initiatives, and large-scale change. This role will partner with the Senior Director, Enterprise Communications to create and promote internal campaigns, messaging, and enablement materials that support enterprise-wide culture and transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Create bespoke communications plans to educate and engage Visa employees about large-scale transformation and what it means for the company’s growth objectives.
  • Build effective change rationales that bring forward people’s thinking, establish an understanding of enablement tools and materials, and enhance the company’s culture.
  • Develop change narratives and messaging documents that focus on what employees should 'think, feel, and do' to excite people about large-scale transformation.
  • Create communications for internal programs that drive a deep connection to Visa’s culture.
  • Develop narrative frameworks, communications campaigns, and events designed to educate employees about how their individual roles play a part in driving the company’s success.
  • Partner with the Enterprise Transformation Office team, the Global Talent org, and other cross-functional groups to create and implement strategic plans to deliver on critical enterprise initiatives.
  • Partner with design and video agencies to create dynamic, exciting assets to complement the communications strategy while staying within budget.
  • Partner with Internal Digital Platform Communications colleagues and the Technology team to design and create new ways of reaching employees in a hybrid environment, focused on leveraging digital assets to drive colleague engagement.
  • Identify change champions and employee influencers across the business, sharing their stories in a dynamic yet disciplined way that supports the change strategy.
  • Leverage change champion networks and other internal influencer groups to drive change effectively.
  • Develop a storytelling infrastructure to craft messaging, case studies, digital and social assets (e.g., videos, animations, social posts), and other content for use across multiple internal channels (events, speaking engagements, intranet, etc.) to build culture and drive engagement.
  • Partner with regional employee communications leads to drive strong alignment across leader messaging while remaining locally relevant.
  • Proactively share content with global business/function Communications leads to ensure that leaders cascade relevant messages throughout Visa.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience
with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a
PhD

Preferred Qualifications:
• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an
Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
• 12 years of communications experience with relevant event experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or related
discipline required.
• Experience in fintech, financial services, or another relevant area strongly preferred
• A deep understanding of communication as a change enabler, extensive experience in change
management initiatives required
• Demonstrated expertise in shaping communications strategies and creating messaging
frameworks that align and reinforce a company’s culture
• Experience in shaping communications strategies and serving as a trusted advisor to leaders
• Demonstrated deep understanding of the employee audience and their needs
• Ability to leverage communications acumen to deliver both broad and bespoke messages and
content that resonate with the audience
• Exceptional project management with the ability to multi-task and achieve multiple deliverables in a
fast-paced environment
• Ability to synthesize business issues into programs, agendas, and content that address challenges
and celebrate key milestones
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including stellar editorial proficiency (writing,
editing, proofing)
• Keen sense of accountability and ownership
• Ability to influence others and build relationships within an organization, communicate regularly
with key individuals and interface with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, pivot quickly, and respond with urgency
• Sound business judgment and experience 'connecting the dots' among seemingly unrelated topics
• 'Hands-on' team player with outstanding project management and strong organizational skills,
attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Good judgment skills and able to handle confidential/sensitive information
• Passionate about people, culture, and the employee experience
• Ability to work independently
• Positive approach and commitment to providing excellent client service

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 132,200 to 213,000 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
