Job Description

As a Director in Card Processing, Acceptance Solutions org you will pave the way for our most important asset, our engineers, to deliver amazing features with highest quality. You understand the business imperatives tied to these strategic projects. You provide hands-on and strategic technology leadership to the team in driving projects, driving the release strategy and guiding the delivery of projects aligned to business strategy on innovative payment acceptance & integrated commerce management. You maintain awareness of dependencies between projects and delivery vision, while ensuring engineering excellence to the five nines. You build the strategy for your teams to architect, design and deliver the next wave of enterprise FinTech innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction and vision for long term product and technology improvement.

  • Engineering and Scrum Management of at least two teams.

  • Designing technical solutions working with architects, tech leads and cross-functional leads.

  • Identify, navigate, and overcome technical and organizational barriers that may stand in the way of delivery.

  • Constantly improve the processes and practices around development and delivery.

  • Deliver reliable, highly available, and highly scalable systems in a Lean, agile, and domain driven engineering environment.

  • Always think customer first, including striving to outperform their expectations.

  • Effectively work with Product Managers, Cross Location leads and other stakeholders to ensure the customer is benefiting from the work.

  • Be willing to experiment and learn fast.

  • Work across teams and across geographic boundaries to ensure seamless integration of the enterprise solution.

  • Develop and implement validation tools that can be applied globally.

  • Work with Product Managers to consume product backlog and generate technical design.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
10+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 13+ years of relevant work experience


Preferred Qualifications
12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
10+ years of backend development experience in building and driving enterprise scale services and platforms using Java/J2EE, Containers, Micro-services, Kafka, Hazelcast and database technologies
7+ years of leadership/people management experience working with cross-location and cross-functional teams.
Experience managing team of 15+ engineers, managers and Sr Staff/Principle Individual Contributor Tech Leads across multiple scrum teams.
Develops and executes strategy to achieve key business objectives defined in collaboration with senior management
Prior experience designing, implementing solutions for large scale highly available and scalable applications and systems like Payments.
Great planning and organizational navigation skills.
Experience with agile development process
Strong verbal, written & interpersonal communication skills with both technical & non-technical audiences
Excellent team player, with strong collaboration skills and ability to influence cross-functional team for results.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 196,000.00 to 284,450.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
