Visa Acceptance Platform is a strategic distribution platform for Visa products and services, and a critical value-added service for merchants and acquirers accepting many payment methods globally.

The Acceptance Solutions Product Office is the strategy, solutioning and go-to-market team that works with the regional sales, business development and marketing teams to understand market trends and opportunities and key client needs, and to develop product investment and go-to-market plans.

Job Description

The Director of Acceptance Solutions will be a key member of North America Acceptance Solutions Product Office, which is accountable for financial and operational performance of Acceptance Solutions in North America.  This role will be specifically responsible for working with a lead of the solutions office to understand the merchant and partner product needs in North America and to engage cross functionally to develop product roadmaps and effective go to market strategies. This position will be based in the San Francisco Bay area.

Responsibilities

  • Owns client solutioning for a set of verticals and product portfolios, including:
    • Supporting sales engineering and product teams in developing unique client solutions
    • Working with product owners to prioritize product development needs spanning strategy, sales, client services, regulatory and localization factors
  • Owns perspective on product market fit, key gaps, and opportunities for products in portfolio and owned verticals
  • Serves as primary point of contact for product leaders in understanding needs of vertical
  • Serves as primary point of contact for sales teams (generalist, specialist, sales engineers) in understanding products and vertical solution offerings
  • Coordinates go-to-market activities for new products / capabilities across portfolio
  • Owns strategic initiatives related to portfolio
  • Builds business cases for new product development and feature enhancements
  • Support creation/design of new specific solutions that generate significant revenue contribution for the region and overall organization
  • Support the ongoing solution prioritization process for new, proposed initiatives to create fact-based assessments of the projects to provide recommendations for Executive Leadership
  • Develop and maintain regional solutions roadmap informed by the solution prioritization process and underlying product capability builds and specific project efforts
  • Thought leadership: You will continuously challenge the status quo and you will be relentless in your focus to initiate and drive change

Locations: Foster City, CA or San Francisco, CA 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's and 10+ years of relevant experience most likely found in payments / financial services focused management consulting role, strategy and / or operations roles at a payments company (e.g., a payment facilitator, an independent software vendor, acquirer), or payments roles at a merchant
Preferred:
• MBA or STEM graduate degree from top-tier institution or similar academic / professional experience
• Typically requires 12+ years total experience with 3-4+ years of post-graduate experience in relevant area
• Experience in and/or significant exposure to the payments industry preferred
• Experience with technical requirements collection, documentation, and management
• Ability to independently lead and manage projects with multiple workstreams, with proven leadership success over a wide variety of functional business problems
• Ability to structure and manage complex cross-enterprise projects and processes with multiple stakeholders at both senior and junior levels
• Superior analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor, attention to detail and ability to structure and analyze sophisticated financial modeling
• Experience working with economic theories, strategic and prioritization frameworks, scenarios analysis, and competitive assessments. Knowledge of payment industry revenue drivers a plus.
• Personal presence and ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior managers and external business partners
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility as a peer with functional and regional leaders within Visa
• Commitment to continuous training and improvement of employees throughout the corporate strategy function
• Self-starter, team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 178,400 to 258,750 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
